Welcome — I’m a Licensed Psychologist offering telehealth sessions for adults throughout California. My clinical training in diverse communities, community mental health centers, hospitals (including USC Hospital/VIP), and private practice has shaped my commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive care. My practice is built on the foundation of cultural humility and a deep respect for the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities of my clients. I have extensive clinical experience supporting adults coping with anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, grief, and OCD. I provide a warm, safe, and collaborative space where you can explore challenges and begin building the tools to feel more grounded and fulfilled. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based techniques, tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. Therapy with me is centered on healing, self-understanding, and empowerment — helping you move toward greater clarity, balance, and resilience.
Your first session is a welcoming and supportive space to begin understanding what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll talk about your experiences with anxiety, depression, or other concerns that may be affecting your daily life and overall well-being. I’ll ask about your goals, current challenges, and any previous experiences with therapy to ensure our work together is meaningful and effective. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally competent. I believe it’s essential to understand the unique factors — cultural, personal, and environmental — that influence how stress, anxiety, and depression show up in your life. There’s no expectation to share everything right away; we’ll move at your pace, focusing on comfort, trust, and emotional safety. By the end of our first session, you’ll have a clearer sense of what therapy with me looks like, the goals we can work toward, and how evidence-based strategies like CBT, mindfulness, and self-compassion can support your healing and growth. Together, we’ll create a path toward balance, resilience, and emotional wellness.
As a psychologist, I integrate evidence-based and experiential therapies to support whole-person healing. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for structure and skills, with Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment-Based, and Somatic/Polyvagal-Informed work for depth, emotional repair, and body–mind connection. This blend meets clients where they are — providing practical tools while also addressing the deeper roots of emotion, behavior, and self-perception.
I specialize in working with adults seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD. I work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, providing therapy that honors each person’s unique story, identity, and values. My approach is rooted in cultural humility and inclusive care, helping clients who may be balancing multiple roles, cultural expectations, or experiences of marginalization. Whether you’re coping with grief, recovering from trauma, or simply wanting to feel more at peace, I provide a safe, collaborative space where you can begin to heal, grow, and move toward greater balance and well-being.
The focus of IFS is healing inner conflict and cultivating self-compassion. We will explore the different “parts” of you — the ones that protect, the ones that hurt, and the ones that long to heal — to restore balance and self-leadership. Develop compassion and trust toward your inner world so you can live with greater clarity and calm.
DBT focuses on emotional regulation and distress tolerance. You’ll learn concrete skills to navigate strong emotions, communicate effectively, and reduce impulsive behaviors — while also building acceptance for yourself as you are. Additionally create a balance between acceptance and change for a more stable, fulfilling life.
In therapy you will learn how to shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, learn how to identify patterns in your thinking that shape mood and behavior, and practice reframing them into more balanced perspective. Additionally, Develop practical, evidence-based coping tools and a more flexible, empowering mindset.
Attachment-Based / Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) In therapy you will learn how to build secure emotional connections. We will explore how early experiences influence current relationship patterns and help you create emotional safety and closeness with yourself and others. The goal is to strengthen your ability to connect authentically and securely in relationships.
Somatic & Polyvagal-Informed Therapy We will focus on Body-based healing and nervous system by bringing awareness to body sensations, breath, and posture. We will work to release stored stress and restore physiological safety. The goal in therapy is to helping your body and mind work together, creating calm, resilience, and connection.

From the first time I read Dr. Huerta’s bio I knew she was the right therapist for me. It was confirmed when I talked to her the first time. She listens and makes me feel heard. She has empathy but provides hope and solutions to work through different issues. I have made so much progress with her guidance and now we are addressing other areas of my life to work through and go deeper in my healing journey. Shout out to Dr. Huerta I appreciate you :)

Finally I found a good therapist who understands me, and wants to actually help me. Dr Huerta asks great questions and points important things out, which is essential for my mental health. Discovering myself and healing from trauma makes the road long and hard, but I’ve been feeling supported and listened to on every step of the way.
