(she/they)
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience supporting individuals, teens, and couples through life transitions, anxiety, trauma, and relational challenges. I offer a compassionate, collaborative, and systems-informed approach that honors your story while helping you build healthier connections with yourself and others. Whether you're seeking clarity, healing, or change, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey.
In our first session, my priority is to create a calm, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and in control of your own story. We’ll begin by getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to work on, and any past experiences (positive or negative) you’ve had with therapy. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with; there’s no pressure to dive into everything at once. I’ll also review informed consent, confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll begin to clarify your goals, explore what wellness and change look like for you, and identify the best pace and approach for our work. I’ll offer reflection and gentle observations, but mostly, I’ll be listening, so you can feel grounded and empowered as we start your therapeutic journey. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling safe, supported, and hopeful about what we can accomplish together.
My communication style is warm, down-to-earth, and compassionate, with a strong emphasis on creating emotional safety and mutual respect. I am genuine and engaged in session, offering both supportive reflection and gentle, honest feedback when it’s therapeutically helpful. Clients often describe me as authentic, validating, and easy to talk to, someone who can hold space for deep emotions while also bringing curiosity, humor, and perspective into the room when appropriate. I tailor my tone and pacing to each client’s unique needs, and I prioritize consent, collaboration, and cultural humility in every conversation. Whether we're exploring past trauma, navigating relationship dynamics, or developing new coping tools, I strive to maintain an open and affirming space where you can express yourself without fear of judgment. I check in regularly to ensure we're working in a way that feels right for you, and I welcome feedback at every stage of the process. Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative dialogue. I am here to listen deeply, reflect honestly, and help you explore new ways of relating to yourself and others with compassion, clarity, and respect.
I believe that effective therapy begins with a shared understanding of your goals and a clear, collaborative plan for how to get there. In our first few sessions, I’ll work with you to identify what matters most, whether that’s feeling more grounded, improving your relationships, processing trauma, setting boundaries, or developing a stronger sense of self. We’ll break down broad goals into manageable steps so that progress feels meaningful and aligned with your values. My approach to goal-setting is flexible and client-centered. I regularly check in with you to assess what’s working, what needs adjusting, and how your needs may shift over time. Depending on your preferences and concerns, I may incorporate strategies from evidence-based models like Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, or mindfulness-based practices to support insight, emotional regulation, and behavioral change. I also integrate psychoeducation when helpful, offering tools and language that empower you to better understand your patterns and make informed decisions. Whether your goals are short-term or part of a deeper healing process, I will be your ally in tracking progress, celebrating growth, and navigating setbacks with compassion. You set the direction, and I’ll help you stay connected to it, at a pace that feels both safe and sustainable.
