Hello there I'm Twaina, I approach psychotherapy from a person-centered, supportive role, where I utilize great active listening skills first. From there, I mentor, guide, and help my client by assisting in being a change agent, helping to change thoughts and perceptions that create those judgments in life, whether judging others, situations, or self. Hi there! My name is Jasmine Bonner, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a small private practice that I launched during my maternity leave last year. Outside of being a therapist, I am a wife, a mom to two little ones (ages 5 and 10 months), a sister, a daughter, and so much more. I know how easy it is to become defined by the titles we hold and the responsibilities we carry. That's why I encourage you to look a little deeper and reflect on who you are beyond those roles and who you want to become. Life is constantly lifing, and I understand how deeply exhausting it can be to keep showing up for everyone and everything while trying to hold yourself together. I genuinely enjoy holding space for individuals navigating the complexities of life, whether you're managing anxiety, working through past experiences, navigating a life transition, or simply trying to reconnect with yourself. It's easy to say, "I'm fine," put your feelings aside, and keep trucking. In our work together, I invite you to put the armor down, be present, and give yourself permission to show up as you are. Therapy can be a space to process, heal, grow, and create meaningful change. You deserve a space that is specifically for you a space where you feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered to become a more authentic version of yourself.

Hi, I’m Faith Williams, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and the founder of The Place for Renewal Mental Health Counseling & Wellness. I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as yourself without having to pretend that you have everything figured out. Life can be hard. Sometimes you’re doing your best to keep going, but underneath it all, you’re overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, hurting, or simply unsure of what comes next. You may have spent a long time taking care of everyone else and forgotten what it feels like to take care of yourself. I’m here to help you slow down, feel seen, and make sense of what you’re carrying. My approach is trauma-informed and draws from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Together, we’ll focus on what you’re experiencing, what matters most to you, and the goals you want to work toward. My hope is that you leave our work together with greater clarity, stronger coping skills, and a deeper understanding of yourself. I want you to feel supported while also feeling empowered to grow. At The Place for Renewal, I believe your current circumstances don’t have to define your future. You can come as you are, start where you are, and take the next step from there. You can be restored. You can be transformed. You can be renewed. And sometimes, that journey begins with simply having someone walk alongside you.

I have a special place in my work for people who are tired of always having to be the strong one, the person everyone calls, the person who handles everything, the person who looks fine on the outside but knows there's a lot going on underneath. If that sounds familiar, I want therapy to be one place where you don't have to keep that up. With me, you can talk like yourself. You can laugh, you can cry, you can say "I don't know." We'll start wherever you are and go from there. Hi, I'm Keia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Virginia and Texas, and founder of Beyond Your Reflection Counseling Services, LLC. I'm glad you found your way here, and I want you to know I'm not here to judge your story, I'm here to help you understand it, work through it, and decide what you want the next part of it to look like. I know people come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes you know exactly what's wrong, and sometimes all you know is that something doesn't feel right anymore. Either way, you don't have to come into our first session with everything figured out. I've spent years working in community mental health, crisis intervention, and care management, supporting people through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, and major life changes. I've learned that people don't always need someone telling them what they "should" be doing. They need someone who will really listen, understand what's happening, and help them figure out what comes next. That's the kind of therapist I am. CURRENTLY FULLY BOOKED FOR COUPLES SESSION! Thanks.

Hi! I'm Terica Brown. Congratulations for the choice to invest in yourself! It can be a difficult proposition to choose to engage in therapy and you have made that choice. I specialize in meeting people where they are in a down to earth way, assisting them with identifying their needs and goals, and working with them to address the issues that keep them stuck. One of the best things about therapy is no topic is off limits and the time is all about you! I've been a practicing clinician for over 20 years; working with people from age 5 to 90! I specialize in addressing relational conflicts, anxiety, depression, trauma and serious mental illness. I believe in addressing the whole person, because we take all of us with us everywhere we go. As a neurodivergent Black woman living with a chronic illness and mother of three adult children, two of whom identify with the LGBTQ+ commmunity, I am always interested in the deeper question people carry about their lives. Many of the individuals I work with are thoughtful, capable people who have spent years showing up for others, meeting expectations, and doing what seemed like the responsible thing to do. At some point, though, many begin to notice a quiet sense that something no longer fits. My work centers around helping people slow down enough to understand what is actually happening beneath that feeling. Together we look at the patterns, experiences, and internal narratives that shape how you see yourself and the choices available to you. From that place, people often begin to rediscover a clearer sense of who they are and what direction their lives might take moving forward. I am especially drawn to working with adults navigating identity shifts, relationship transitions, and moments in life where the path forward is no longer obvious.

If years of therapy, medication, books, and coping skills haven't created the change you're looking for, it may be because you've been treating the symptoms instead of the patterns producing them. Many of my clients come to me feeling frustrated, wondering why they understand their struggles yet continue to repeat the same thoughts, emotional reactions, relationship dynamics, or behaviors. My approach focuses on identifying and disrupting the developmental patterns driving those experiences by working with the brain and nervous system where they were formed and continue to be reinforced. Rather than teaching you how to better manage the same struggles, my goal is to help you create meaningful, lasting transformation so you can move forward with greater freedom, clarity, and confidence.

We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Virginia from Norfolk to Roanoke! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Virginia.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
