I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I started out my professional journey in Tennessee in 2010. I was licensed in Tennessee in 2015. I moved to New Mexico in 2019 and then to Virginia in 2022. My therapy techniques tend to be eclectic with mainly person centered (focusing on rapport and the therapeutic relationship), cognitive behavioral (looking at thought patterns), and creative techniques. I currently see people virtually but eventually hope to expand to see people in person and also have group therapy.
You keep seeing everyone posting about being their best self, and showing up for themselves. Meanwhile you are just trying to be. Whatever that be, may be for the day. I believe that in order to be your best self, you must be authentic. What does that even look like? You must be true to what you’ve endured, the things that you have overcome…the good, the bad, and even the ugly moments. I help women to embrace them all. Then we take it a step further and look at building you up as a WHOLE. So your best self starts with where you are today and then we create a plan on where you want to be and who you want to become.
I am a licensed psychotherapist dedicated to providing compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based care. If you’re looking for someone who will sit back while you unravel your life's chaos alone, I’m not your person. But if you want someone who gently calls you out, celebrates your wins (even the small ones like doing laundry), and hands you actual tools (not just tissues), welcome. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused techniques, which is fancy for I help you identify the unhelpful thoughts doing donuts in your brain, and together we kick them out and get you moving forward.
I proudly support the LGBTQIA2+ community, and my practice is affirming, inclusive, and kink/poly-friendly. No judgment here, ever! Whether you're dealing with anxiety that won't shut up, depression that's overstayed its welcome, or you’re just trying to get it together-ish, we can work on making real, sustainable change.
You bring the honesty. I’ll bring the dry humor, the empathy, and the occasional metaphor that doesn’t totally land but somehow still helps. Remember YOU>it.
**New Clients: Before scheduling, please ensure you have availability that aligns with my practice hours, particularly evening or flexible scheduling options. Because my calendar fills quickly, I encourage new clients to book several appointments in advance if they are looking for consistent care. Many long-term clients transition to biweekly or monthly sessions, which may create additional openings over time. Clients are responsible for managing their appointments. Please note that all cancellations are subject to my cancellation policy and applicable fees, with no exceptions.**
Do you find yourself overthinking everything, especially your relationships, conversations, or whether you’ve disappointed someone? Maybe you’re the person everyone depends on, yet you’re quietly overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted. You may struggle to set boundaries, put other people’s needs before your own, or find yourself constantly seeking reassurance.
I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship concerns, people-pleasing, perfectionism, low self-confidence, emotional overwhelm, and difficulty putting yourself first.
Therapy with me is more than having a place to vent. I want to help you understand why these patterns keep showing up and learn how to change them.
Together, we’ll identify the thoughts, behaviors, relationship dynamics, and emotional patterns that may be keeping you stuck. We’ll work on practical ways to manage anxiety, communicate more effectively, set boundaries without guilt, build confidence in your decisions, and stop allowing fear or other people’s reactions to determine your choices.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and active. I’ll listen and validate your experiences, but I’m not a therapist who simply nods for 50 minutes. I’ll ask questions, offer honest feedback, gently challenge unhelpful patterns, and provide practical strategies you can use outside of sessions.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My goal is to help you feel more confident, grounded, and in control of your life.

I believe in poly vagal theory and teach clients to release emotions from there nervous system not just cope with it. I often say I consider myself more of a trainer than therapist sometimes. I also help a lot with attachment struggles. I hope this gives you enough info about me to feel comfortable working with me. I am also very flexible with how I work with people.

My hope is that you leave each session feeling heard, empowered, and more confident in your ability to move toward the life you want

I work with children and families, and I bring creativity, humor, and a down-to-earth approach into every session. Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating sometimes it looks like play, laughter, art supplies on the floor, or learning new ways to connect in the middle of everyday chaos. I've been working in mental health for 15 years, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in

looking for someone who can work with your family across different ages, that's something I
can do.
I'm a Certified Trauma Specialist and trained in integrative mental health, which means I bring
more tools to the table than just talk therapy. I'm neurodivergence-affirming and work with
people across a wide range of identities and communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals and
single parents. A lot of my clients have been carrying something for a long time before they
finally reach out — that's more common than you'd think, and it's never too late to start.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker specializing in helping individuals manage depression, anxiety, and life’s challenges. My approach combines evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing with empathy and understanding to create a safe, supportive space for growth. I meet clients where they are and work collaboratively to identify goals, build coping skills, and create meaningful change. I’m a therapist who works with teens (13–17) and adults (18+) who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in their heads, or just tired of holding everything together on their own. A lot of the people I work with look like they’re doing “fine” on the outside, but inside they’re dealing with anxiety, stress, low mood, or feeling like they’re falling behind in school, work, relationships, or life in general.
In therapy, I offer a space where you don’t have to filter yourself or pretend you’re okay. Together, we focus on making sense of what you’re feeling, finding practical ways to cope, and helping you feel more grounded and in control of your day-to-day life. The goal is simple: to help you feel more like yourself again, with tools that actually fit your real life.
Welcome!
I came to this work a little differently than some. After spending 16 years in my first career, I found myself sitting across from a therapist for the first time. That experience changed my life. It gave me not only a new perspective on myself but also a deep desire to help others in the same way. So, I made a big leap: I went back to school to become a therapist myself.
Since then, it’s been over two decades of meaningful, often humbling work. I spent 21 years in community-based mental health and substance abuse treatment, and I was fortunate to serve as a contracted therapy provider for the Department of Defense—work that gave me a profound respect for the strength and resilience of those who serve. I’ve also worked in private group practice and provided therapy in intensive outpatient programs in Canada, gaining experience with a wide range of individuals and challenges along the way.
In November 2021, I opened my own private practice. It’s been an incredible privilege to support individuals and couples in this more personal setting, and I truly value the relationships I build with each client. If you’re considering therapy, I want you to know you're not alone—and change really is possible.

Usually, my clients seek therapy and counseling after struggling with challenges for days and sometimes months. Over time, these same challenges create maladaptive behavior patterns that must be corrected to facilitate change. However, my clients tend to dig in while inserting a host of new concerns.
Albert Einstien wrote: "We can't solve today's problems with the mentality that created them" With this in mind, it is better to seek professional services and resources: Recognizing you're not alone in this healing process.
I understand that therapy cannot solve all things of the past that challenge us, but clients can seek support, understanding, and better days.
My passion is to help the world heal through community and humanity. I'm ready to help you define and rewrite your new beginning. This will allow you to sculpt the person you want to be.
Welcome, I'm glad you are here!
I'm Aline and I empower you to reconnect with your authentic self, and achieve your goals in counseling. I believe you already possess within you the capacity and resources to resolve your own issues and just need the support in therapy to tap into your strengths to enhance your mental wellness.
