Hi, I’m Tamar. I take a calm, grounded approach to therapy, using reflective listening to help you gain personal insight and engage in meaningful self-exploration. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and I see my role as a supportive guide and resource along the way. My style is laid-back and down-to-earth—I listen first, speak second. I also incorporate psychoeducation, somatic techniques, and mindfulness-based interventions to support healing and growth in practical, accessible ways.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is all about getting to know each other and laying the foundation for a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe therapy is most effective when there’s trust and collaboration. During this initial meeting, you'll have the opportunity to share your strengths, treatment preferences—such as session frequency—and discuss your goals and expectations. This time helps me better understand who you are and how I can best support you on your journey.

I consistently encourage self-love and radical self-acceptance throughout the therapeutic process

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I employ CBT for many presenting issues such as depression, anxiety and grief related as many difficult emotions derive from distorted thinking. I utilize cognitive restructuring techniques to teach reframing skills. It is evidenced based and effective. I take a person centered approach and trauma informed approach to best tailor the individualized needs of my clients.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

My clients see much success with DBT as it allows them to grow their distress tolerance skills, enhance their interpersonal skills and feel empowered to live a life worth living. I utilize this approach when my client presents with difficulty managing their emotions, struggle with maintaining healthy relationships, and struggle to stay in the here and now. DBT is rich in interventions and it is ideal for those who would like to take their time to peel back layers that bogs down their quality of life. There’s emotional freedom to gain from DBT. I am a DBT certified clinician.

EMDR

EMDR is an evidenced-based therapy that I am trained in. EMDR is effective for ameliorating trauma symptoms and I have also found it to be effective in treating phobias. There are effective ways to engage EMDR online. I have utilized EMDR online and in person.
