Hello! I’m Jasmine Gillison, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia. I firmly believe that nobody exists in a vacuum. Even though life can feel incredibly isolating at times, you truly do not have to walk this path alone. When frustration, stress, and disconnection leave you feeling at your wit's end, it is completely normal to have more questions than answers.
Like you, I am human. I understand firsthand the struggles that arise when "life starts to life." While I believe everyone is genuinely doing their best with the tools they have, I also honor and foster your deeply rooted desire for healthy change. I am a psychotherapist who works with a diverse population of people. My goal is to collaborate with individuals to assist them in achieving their therapy goal(S). My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I have a specialization in working with Veterans, LGBTQI, men, and people of color populations. However, I work with all people who are seeking mental health services. I am licensed in DC (LICSW), VA (LCSW), MD (LCSW-C), and PA (LCSW). I have BS in Human Ecology, BA in Humanities from The Ohio State University, MSW from San Jose State University and Post Masters fellowship in mental health from Stanford University.

Hello,
I'm Adrienne.
Are you struggling with sadness, low motivation and anxiousness? Do you feel pulled in a million directions, and feel unable to fit it all in? I empower high performers to overcome the burden of anxiety, low motivation and burnout. I use a mix of evidence-based therapy models to get to the root of your struggles. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back in balance. Whether you are dealing with overwhelm or the cycles of anxiety and depression. I am here to help. Seeking therapy can be scary but you are making the right choice. You deserve a safe place to heal and grow. In our sessions, I'll meet you with compassion and create a space free from judgment so you can overcome the hangups and habits that are holding you back. Let's work together!
Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relational betrayal, or a major life transition you don’t have to process these emotions alone.
Treating behavior alone doesn't heal the root cause because our bodies carry the stories our minds struggle to process. In our sessions, we slow down. I will guide you to notice where emotions are being held in your body, help you name them, and identify the 'story' and needs behind that feeling. Together, we learn to honor those needs, providing the relief and self-trust that talk therapy alone often misses.
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my desire to help people heal beneath the surface and reclaim their sense of identity and authentic self.
My approach to therapy is integrative and person-centered, meaning I blend evidence-based modalities like CBT, ACT, and Narrative therapy based on your unique needs. However, the core of my work is a somatic, 'bottom-up' approach. This is based on the belief that emotions and trauma are stored in the body and that treating behavior alone doesn't heal the root cause.
The approaches used in session, help clients to manage overwhelming emotions, challenge negative thought patterns, and release the stress their bodies hold onto after trauma. These methods help clients find relief from anxiety, depression, grief, and relational betrayal in ways that last beyond the therapy room.
I'm a social worker by trade with over 25 years of experience in a lot of different areas. I have a breadth of experience that allows me to be very flexible so I can move where the person I am working with is at. I like to make people comfortable first. I know therapy is challenging and I recognize that it can be hard to open up to a stranger about things. Professionally I have a many years working with veterans/military, people who had a TBI, mental health, substance abuse, and more. I provide a very open and non-judgmental space, and am here to listen. I want someone to feel heard and seen, and to know that I am here for them, and here to help them.
Hello, my name is Luiza and I am the owner/therapist of FIT MIND counseling services. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in FL & MA and a Licensed Professional Counselor in DC, GA & VA. I am from Brazil, and I speak Portuguese as well :) I can understand Spanish pretty well too, but I do not speak fluently.
FIT MIND counseling services enjoys empowering clients finding a more meaningful way to live their lives and assisting them learning about the importance of self-love. Helping clients to focus on themselves and on their self-care is a precious thing. When they learn to embrace and unconditionally love for being themselves, they become stronger in the face of negativity and more able to hold onto positive thoughts when faced with challenges.
Mental illness is as real as any physical illness. We talk normally about cancer and diabetes, although the same should apply to mental illness. Emotional and mental health are just as important as the physical health of a human being. The emotional trauma that a brain endures in various of the human life cycle can be damaging and in the long run, just as detrimental as a psychical illness.
People donate their organs, but they cannot donate their brains. Some people live with human-made hearts, but there is no such thing as human-made brains. I believe that our brain is the most important organ in our human body, so why don’t we start taking good care of it?
Therapy is not only for people with mental illness. Therapy is for everyone. We all have faced or currently face some hardships in life. Talking to a therapist can help you deeply in improving your mental health, decrease your stress and live with more joy and intention! Make your appointment today!

I am Nelva, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) currently living and providing services in Northern Virginia. Raised in Washington, DC, where I completed my studies, including my Masters in Social Work at Howard University.
I understand the importance and courage of seeking professional help when there’s such a stigma associated with mental health. I believe in utilizing evidence-based practices to help individuals cope with mental health challenges in a meaningful way.
I am a Virginia-based Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has been practicing for 7 years. I earned my Master's from Troy State University in Alabama. I provide individual and couples therapy with a focus on resolving functionally impairing issues associated with anxiety, relationships, mood disorders, and trauma. I utilize common analogies to assist with providing varied perspectives so clients can recognize the depth of their potential.
I am excited about the success my clients have accomplished. It is their discovery that is most interesting: for example, it is possible to change personality even though we have always been told it never happens! We approach this by exploring emotions that form the building blocks of personality. In this sort of work, I find that the most effective therapy happens when clients and I form a interpersonal therapeutic bond of trust. By the way, when I say that change is possible , I really believe it, and I am confident that if you are willing to work on what many would call impossible...building trust...you will leave our sessions feeling a sense of increased wholeness. (Today also marks the beginning of a new partnership with Teach America! I have loved Teach America since they began. Grow Therapy and I are offering 20 counseling sessions to Teach America members free of charge!)
If your brain never fully shuts off, you overthink everything, or you feel mentally exhausted even when life looks “fine” from the outside, you’re in the right place. I work best with thoughtful, reflective adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, burnout, relationship patterns, life transitions, and the pressure of trying to hold everything together. Many of my clients are young adults, college students, and young working professionals who are thoughtful, high-functioning, and often spend more time in their own heads than they’d like.
My approach is conversational, direct, and insight-oriented. I don’t believe therapy is about me having all the answers. You are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you identify patterns, challenge assumptions, explore different perspectives, and uncover solutions that already fit who you are.
Clients often appreciate my open-minded approach, curiosity, and ability to create a space where they can think out loud without judgment. Therapy with me is less about being told what to do and more about developing a deeper understanding of yourself and how you want to move through the world.
I am a bilingual, independent clinical social worker with a background in public health and more than 18 years of experience in both physical and mental health care. Over the past seven years, my focus has been on providing mental health therapy to individuals seeking meaningful change and personal growth.
In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients to deepen their self-awareness, explore the emotional and relational aspects of their experiences, and identify patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that influence daily life. My goal is to empower clients to build effective coping skills, navigate life’s challenges with confidence, and enhance their overall well-being.
I am fluent in Amharic and offer therapy in both English and Amharic to best support the needs of my clients.
Welcome. I am a Virginia-Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals find relief from life’s most pressing challenges, including relationship difficulties, parenting stressors, identity struggles, depression, grief, and anxiety.
My diverse clinical background spans private practice, community agencies, and intensive in-home services, allowing me to effectively support clients across the lifespan—from young children to older adults. Clients frequently describe my therapeutic style as warm, professional, and appropriately humorous, creating an approachable environment where meaningful change can happen.
To ensure my clients achieve measurable relief, I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) alongside traditional therapeutic modalities. This specialized training allows me to successfully guide clients through healing from trauma and reducing severe anxiety and depressive symptoms. I invite you to reach out today to discuss how we can partner in your wellness journey.
You may feel desperate, alone, and misunderstood. You feel like you are floating in the bottom of a lake and cannot see the light above you. Everyday, you feel like you are just going through the motions. If this describes you, then I may be the therapist for you. In my nearly twenty years of experience, I have helped people like you reach their potential and achieve the recovery that they needed. There is no set system or quick fix as others may promise, but I will walk down the road with you. My primary focus is on helping you deal with ambiguity. Often our thoughts and subsequently what we teach ourselves becomes rigid and fairly black and white. Using a pragmatic and authentic approach to therapy I try and help you be okay with things that are beyond your control and work with you to establish yourself as the protagonist in your own story. This is primarily accomplished through conversation and allowing you the client to guide the therapy in the direction it needs to go.

This includes addiction, foster care & adoption, community support and residential treatment. My experience has afforded me the opportunity to learn from and support individuals who struggle with everyday life stressors, those that are impacted by mild, moderate, severe and chronic mental illness. My background includes adolescents, young adults, adults, and geriatrics who are struggling with mental health challenges.
In 2017 I began working in leadership at Gateway Homes, Inc. where I gained expertise with serving individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. My practice opened in 2020 and I continue to provide direct services to individuals in the community who are struggling with different social, emotional and behavioral issues that are causing discomfort.
I'm a psychotherapist with 35-plus years of experience. After completing training in clinical social work and psychology at the University of Maryland (M.S.W., 1988) and Saybrook Institute (Ph.D., 1991), I began practicing as a family, couples and individual therapist. I have hosted on radio/podcasts, have written two books and thousands of self-help articles in my "Life's a Beach" column for nationwide Gannett media. I love working with clients in the here-and-now, and finding solutions to move forward with life. My primary goal is to help you help yourself. I will guide and coach you, not tell you what to do. Diagnostic labels are useful at times, but you are not your labels. I'm your thinking partner: We'll reason and think our way to what makes sense together.
Are you a teen or adult who needs assistance navigating the twists and turns in life? I offer a supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and work toward established goals. I am passionate about helping others navigate mental health challenges and find hope in recovery. My commitment to this work is informed not only by my professional training but also by my own lived experience with mental health symptoms and recovery from addiction. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to seek help and make lasting changes. I strive to provide a nonjudgmental space where you can work toward healing, growth, and resilience. We will work collaboratively to develop coping skills and strategies to help combat unwanted symptoms, while building resilience and fostering personal growth.
I graduated with a Master of Education in Counseling & Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College in 2012. I have been working in mental health for 15+ years and have been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia since 2017. Most of my experience has been in crisis settings, assisting people during their most vulnerable times.
I hope you’ll trust me to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges and discover your path to healing.
