I am a licensed clinical social worker in the common wealth of Virginia and DC. I received my Masters from Barry University and have been practicing for 5 years. I aim to help client's who are struggling in the areas of relationships; marriage, family, or friendships. We are designed to be in community. Yet, relationships can be complex and many times client's are surprised to find out that many of their adult interactions are effected by childhood experiences or past hurts. Together we can untangle some of those webs in order to develop and nurture healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Hi, my name is Stephen
As a Christian do you ever feel like you are letting God down, or like you are not being faithful enough because you have real-life problems? Problems In your relationship, emotionally, behaviorally, or even with substance abuse.
Is it hard to be kind to yourself?
I help individuals manage their anxiety, depression, or burnout by addressing the needs of your body, mind, and spirit using the bible. I integrate current counseling theories with sound biblical principles to help develop a stronger relationship with God, and a stronger you.
Whether you are dealing with being overwhelmed, relationship issues, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I am here to help.
Seeking therapy can seem scary and maybe even against some of the teachings you've learned in church, but you are making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together I will meet with you, and your spouse if you want, with compassion and evidence-based techniques while using biblical principles so you can overcome the hang-ups and habits holding you back. The research says that 1 in 4 people in the United States, at any given time, have mental health issues. This does not exclude the church. The average church in Virginia has 250 members attending on any given Sunday. That means that at least fifty people in your church service last Sunday are struggling with some type of mental illness or emotional problem. I work with churches to help them with ministering to the hurting, please let me help you.

Hello, my name is Sally. For decades it has been my life mission to help people return to resiliency after setbacks, losses, pain, stress, and suffering. Resiliency means you still acknowledge and own the dark times in your life, but you are freed to return to creating, to feeling compassion instead of being needy and fatigued. Resiliency means your body, brain, hormones, and emotions are back in flow and in healthy relationships with others and the environment and that your mind is free to focus on the things you want and need to focus on.
Often people come to therapy feeling stuck and feeling unable to change a situation or the suffering in their lives. Many times for life problems that just emerge, all you need to return to resiliency is more options to consider. Most successful outcomes involve finding the right combination of attacking certain aspects, embracing and loving certain aspects, simply letting go of some aspects, and avoiding some aspects of an issue. I bring a comprehensive set of tools and provide coaching on how you can put the right tools for you and your situation into action.
In all cases, it is best to build on our strengths. However, in many cases - especially if your ‘weaknesses’ are connected to intractable and chronic pain or long-term damage, like in addictions, it is best not to ignore or push those problems and feelings down or to the back. I can help you navigate through the inner judges, critics, and defender parts back to a centered, reliable starting place. I help you find and connect a ‘good self to come from’.
Sometimes emergent life challenges reveal the deep fault lines of old unresolved traumas. Often struggles with competency, completion, relationships, dependence, or other aspects of being consistently functional and resilient are rooted in unresolved events or relational traumas. I can help you make a journey map to get started in coping with and ultimately resolving those traumas. I can assist you in learning how to connect to and relate to those parts that are impediments to healthy relationships, body flow, and resiliency. The task is to reorganize clusters of feelings and find a starting place for change and balance.

I am an African American woman with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field and more than 6 years providing outpatient therapy in the state of Virginia. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2018. My professional journey has been deeply rooted in serving individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, with a strong commitment to culturally responsive, ethical, and compassionate care.
My work centers on supporting individuals who struggle with identity, self-worth, and negative or distorted beliefs about themselves. Many of the clients I serve feel disconnected from who they are, shaped by past trauma, life transitions, systemic barriers, or repeated experiences of disappointment and loss. I help clients explore these experiences, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop a healthier, more authentic sense of self.
Through a strength-based, client-centered, and evidence-informed approach, I work collaboratively with clients to uncover their inner resilience, increase self-awareness, and build emotional insight. Therapy is a space where clients are encouraged to show up fully—without judgment—while learning practical tools to manage emotions, improve relationships, and make empowered decisions aligned with their values and goals.
As a clinician, I believe healing is not only about symptom reduction, but also about reclaiming identity, restoring confidence, and learning how to live with intention and purpose. My goal is to create a safe, affirming environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they move toward growth, clarity, and long-term emotional wellness.

My role is to come alongside you as you discover the peace, hope, and joy of life that you were always meant to have. I work to provide a safe space to process thoughts and emotions that can be overwhelming. If you feel stuck and do not know how to move forward, come talk with me!
Hey! I'm glad that you are looking to get therapy. Here are some things to know about me while making you decision on what works well for you. I come from a military life style allowing me to travel the world and see all kinds of cultures. Because of this I see value in everyone. I believe in getting results in therapy. I want to see people change as fast as they want to or are willing to. So I give things to practice in every session.
I believe in poly vagal theory and teach clients to release emotions from there nervous system not just cope with it. I often say I consider myself more of a trainer than therapist sometimes. I also help a lot with attachment struggles. I hope this gives you enough info about me to feel comfortable working with me. I am also very flexible with how I work with people.
