My name is Maria. I have been practicing therapy for 20 years. I have worked in a variety of settings such as, a hospital emergency room seeing individuals struggling with mental health issues. I have also work with children and adults. I feel privileged to have you allow me into your life and share your experiences and struggles with me.
I provide a client centered approach that is compassionate with a judgement free zone that empowers you to make the changes in your life that you desire. I am simply a guide and supportive entity that helps you create your new life.
I have years of experience providing services to individuals struggling with mental illness, addictions and transitioning from the prison system. I believe diversity is the heart of American culture and love providing services to individuals from various cultural and social economic backgrounds.
My aim is to help clients navigate major life transitions, anxiety, depression, and overwhelming stress — especially when life feels uncertain, heavy, or out of control. Whether you’re dealing with a big change, emotional burnout, or financial pressure, therapy with me is a place to slow down, get grounded, and start making sense of what you’re going through.
I take a warm, supportive, but direct approach to therapy. I won’t just nod and listen, I’ll help you notice patterns, challenge what’s keeping you stuck, and build practical tools so you can feel more steady, confident, and in control of your life. My background is a clinical social worker working full time in medical social work so I witness people's life change every day in major ways. This has lead me to prioritize self care and build intentional ways to help myself and others manage stress. My top self-care activities include traveling, spending quality with family and friends, seeking out thrilling adventures, discovering new RNB music, and walking. I'm hopeful that we can identify some coping skills that work for you.
I view us as the ultimate team! You are the expert of your own life story. I am here to help you rewrite the parts that don't quite fit with the version of yourself you want to be. Using empathy and humor, we will work together to redefine the narrative you have of yourself into one you are proud to take ownership of.

Let us face it, sometimes, despite our best efforts, we may find ourselves struggling to cope. You may need support and a safe place to be share, be valued, and encouraged. You may even be seeking to gather a new perspective, clarity, or a new way of dealing with adversity. Whether it is personal or professional goals, loss, relationships, or trying to find your sense of purpose and value at this time in your life, I can help! Together, we can navigate these feelings and forge a path forward.
Everyone needs help from time to time. I enjoy helping people to find their strengths; their gifts, talents and abilities that they were created with. Whether you’re experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or just feeling stuck, therapy can provide a safe place to work things out and find solutions that are right for you.
I find that many people are helped by connection with a therapist, someone who will listen, but also use their training and experience, bringing that into the relationship.
Welcome! I believe therapy works best when you feel seen, respected, and safe. I strive to create a supportive space where your lived experiences, identities, values, and cultural background are honored—not pathologized. Whether you’re navigating stress, trauma, identity exploration, relationships, or life transitions, you don’t have to do it alone.
I approach therapy with cultural humility, meaning I see you as the expert on your own experience. I am committed to ongoing learning, self‑reflection, and ethical practice. I actively work to be aware of my own identities and biases and welcome conversations about culture, power, and difference when they are relevant to your healing
I am a dedicated Clinical Social Worker with experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relational challenges. I am committed to providing structured, goal-oriented care that promotes emotional wellness, resilience, and long-term growth. I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build insight, regulate emotions, process trauma, and develop practical coping skills.
My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. With experience in clinical supervision and program oversight, I am passionate about maintaining high standards of care while empowering both my clients and clinical teams to grow with confidence and clarity.
I know at times life can seem confusing or even impossible. I believe with every fiber of my being we all have the answers we need. Somehow we get separated from our core strength. You are the expert on you, you alone hold your truth. I am interested in your story and use the description, "enlightened witness" as a way to describe some of what I do in my work as a therapist and healer. I see myself as a fellow traveler, a helper, and a companion who "holds the lantern" to help guide people to move out of dark places and into their truth. Much of the time we are living a narrative others have crafted, often driven by fear or pain rather than strength. These narratives can feel like prisons but we can heal and take back our story, and choose to see from our core. Embrace compassion, reflection and most of all self-love.
Some of my greatest joy comes from helping people move past pain into healthy and loving relationships with themselves and others. I believe suffering is inevitable but not without wisdom and growth. Sometimes seeing our strengths is difficult. Self-love must include your whole being and all parts ~ messy, vulnerable, raw and authentic. You are the velveteen rabbit and you are already worthy of your own love. You are already real.
I am licensed in Virginia, West Virginia and Texas. I see clients in these states only at this point.
FYI Please schedule on the hour only. Otherwise, I will have to call you back and reschedule. I usually offer mostly daytime hours so having the time to meet during the day is important.
If your brain never fully shuts off, you overthink everything, or you feel mentally exhausted even when life looks “fine” from the outside, you’re in the right place. I work best with thoughtful, reflective adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, burnout, relationship patterns, life transitions, and the pressure of trying to hold everything together.
My approach is conversational, direct, and insight-oriented. I don’t believe therapy is about me having all the answers. You are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you identify patterns, challenge assumptions, explore different perspectives, and uncover solutions that already fit who you are.
Clients often appreciate my open-minded approach, curiosity, and ability to create a space where they can think out loud without judgment. Therapy with me is less about being told what to do and more about developing a deeper understanding of yourself and how you want to move through the world.
“All of us live only a few days and have a lot of trouble.” Throughout our lives we face loss, grief, anxiety, depression, anger, and a host of other negative experiences that impact our lives. During these difficult challenges, we can struggle to return to a “normal” level of functioning. It’s at those times we need to reach out to those with the skills to assist us.
As a Licensed Clinical Social worker, I am committed to providing support and guidance to help individuals navigate this pathway. I emphasize importance of addressing habits, hurts, and hang-ups to foster mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth and healing. In order to facilitate change and growth, I employ different treatment methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to address an array of mental health issues.
I'm your partner! Let's navigate life's challenges as they emerge. I'm your partner that supports you in building those healthy coping skills that already exists within; a healthier version of your self. It's like my Texas sister Beyonce' says "Let me upgrade you". As the times change, we must have the ability to upgrade the manner in which we embrace and manage the impact of those changes such as changes in job, relocation, death of a loved one or family member, empty-nesters, transitioning into a caretaker role for a parent , child, or sibling.... I have an interesting educational background as I presently have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University, A Master's of Social Work from The University of New England and presently working towards a Doctorate of Psychology in Behavioral Health Leadership. In my free time I love to eat seafood and spend time with my family. I hope to partner with you soon as you are the expert of your life.

Fun fact: I have a degree in Philosophy and even studied Japanese in high school!

Hellooo! I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist living in Virginia. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Regent University in 2008.
I have lived in many different places but mostly I grew up in eastern North Carolina and Europe. Having parents from western New York and southern West Virginia, I was raised in a "northern" household in a "southern" environment. I like to think these contrasts in my life have helped me learn to adapt and identify with many different types of people. While I value the privilege of being an American, I love what other nationalities contribute to my world. Standing beside my clients and walking with them through their difficult times is one of my greatest joys.

My name is Amber and I am just your average woman living life in the midwest. I am a wife, mother to 3, soon to be 4, littles and therapist. I have served all kinds of populations from incarceration to outpatient working with kiddos as young as 3 to adults in their 80s. What you see in session, the laid back, goofy but can be blunt person is who you'd meet on the street if you saw me in public. I believe healing comes from within but also from the people you choose to surround yourself with. Some people have a great support system and others have me as their cheerleader and I strive to be a good one.

Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia. I have been in the mental health field since 2013. I enjoy working with individuals (ages 16-99 years old), couples, and families. I utilized an eclectic blend of treatment methods that best suits the client. I assist clients in gaining clarity on their goals and living the life they imagined.
As a neurodivergent Black woman living with a chronic illness and mother of three adult children, two of whom identify with the LGBTQ+ commmunity, I am always interested in the deeper question people carry about their lives. Many of the individuals I work with are thoughtful, capable people who have spent years showing up for others, meeting expectations, and doing what seemed like the responsible thing to do. At some point, though, many begin to notice a quiet sense that something no longer fits.
My work centers around helping people slow down enough to understand what is actually happening beneath that feeling. Together we look at the patterns, experiences, and internal narratives that shape how you see yourself and the choices available to you. From that place, people often begin to rediscover a clearer sense of who they are and what direction their lives might take moving forward.
I am especially drawn to working with adults navigating identity shifts, relationship transitions, and moments in life where the path forward is no longer obvious.
