Hello there! Take a deep breath. It's not easy finding the right therapist. I have been on the other side of the therapy desk and know how hard it is to open up to a stranger. It's okay if you are anxious about it, I understand this. I have provided therapy for almost 20 years and have been in the mental health field for over 25 years in a multitude of settings - schools, prisons, outpatient and inpatient facilities. I've been in private practice for about 8 years. If you need just a few sessions to gain just a few tools to help over a rough patch, we can collaborate on that. Or, if you are ready for a major change in your life to address some serious problems, we can work on that, as well. My approach is collaborative, meaning, you and I are a team to work towards a solution for your current challenges.

I am a second career social worker, who graduated with my MSW in 2014 and my Ph.D. in 2019, both from the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, but have lived in the Houston area for 30+ years. I decided to become a social worker because of my personal experiences raising a child with behavioral health issues and experiencing profound loss following the sudden death of my husband. My goals were to help others the way my own family had been helped, but I also hoped to improve the experiences of others with similar lived experiences but less positive outcomes. In addition to my private practice, I am an adjunct professor at the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work, and I frequently consult with immigration lawyers about the ways in which mental health issues may impact the path to asylum or citizenship. I practice with a trauma-informed style and am always conscious of the ways in which trauma impacts the lives and experiences of individuals in all walks of life. I have experience working with people who live with ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, and mood disorders generally. My goal is to support my clients in achieving their own goals for a happier and healthier life.

Hi, I'm Attalie. Have you forgotten to take care of yourself? Do you often wonder what it would take to feel some sense of balance in your life again? We are faced with challenges and changes in life constantly. Making adjustments to pivot to meet the expectations of those changes often leads to feelings of overwhelm, disappointment, frustrations and a sense of depletion with no time to care for self. If you often escape, avoid, procrastinate or for that matter take on everyone else's issues except your own sense of wellness and health I am here to help empower you to develop and access your own inner resources and move toward self actualization and personal growth.
I look at mental health in a wholistic sense. I mix mindfulness and decades of experience in fitness to help you find what works for you to live your best balanced life and find the fulfillment you need to step into the alignment of your purpose. Developing a strong relationship with self; defining your boundaries, recognizing your value systems and how they pertain to your way of being in this messy world are the staples to grounding yourself mentally.
You are enough, you are deserving, and whatever you are dealing with now I'll meet you there. Let's work together to find tools that are intrinsically yours and get to a better you, so that each day is met with a sense of balance and well being despite the stressors in life.

After many years of exploring a variety of jobs I finally began to focus on assisting others in this adventure called "life ." As an adult. I began serving through Christian ministry and then realized I was even more fulfilled in working more specifically in the wider field of mental health. After getting both master's and a doctoral degree in mental health, I worked in clinical settings, counseling centers, crisis centers, my own private practice , and university settings. While managing my own counseling center, I also served several years teaching graduate students in the areas of counseling and psychology. My joy comes from helping others regain control of life when cognitions, emotions, and behaviors have caused distress. We do not always understand the "why" of life experiences, however we can gain mastery of our thinking, feeling, and doing and continue to enhance functioning and happiness.
Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and I enjoy helping clients to see progress and make positive change. I strive to empower others to succeed in life and be the best they can be. I love working with a variety of ages and backgrounds to help you to reach your full potential in life and heal from any past issues.
Hello. My name is Sarah.
Do you ever feel like it's just not enough? The "it" could be any number of things. Your job, your relationships, your daily routines, etc.. Is it hard to find the good during the bad?
I can help. Together, we can find what is holding you back and we can find the best way to navigate back to happiness. I feel you are the best one to know what you need and typically follow a person-centered approach. I also integrate mindfulness and help you change the way you perceive things through your thinking. I am here to help in a number of situations. Whether that be relationships, anger, anxiety, and so much more.
I enjoy working with older children, young adults and couples. I believe everyone deserves a safe space to be themselves where they can evolve and grow into their best selves.
Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Texas. I received my Masters from the University of North Dakota and have been practicing for 10 years. I specialize in CBT, Structural Family Therapy, Couples Therapy, Anger Management, and Grief Counseling, I offer a client-centered approach emphasizing empathy, process, and relatability. By collaboratively addressing mental health and relational well-being, I empower clients to navigate challenges, build resilience, and foster positive change in a supportive therapeutic environment.
I'm a therapist and I work with people who have mixed anxiety and depression. Over time, I've noticed a few patterns my client's have in common. See if this fits: you're tired of being your own worst critic.
Maybe you've achieved what you're "supposed to" but feel unfulfilled. Or maybe you're stuck while others seem to move forward easily. Either way, you're harder on yourself than anyone else would be.
Your mind won't quiet down at night but feels foggy during the day. Simple tasks pile up because they feel overwhelming. You put things off, then beat yourself up for procrastinating.
Some days motivation is nonexistent. Other days you're anxious about everything. You've tried apps, routines, and productivity systems. Nothing works long-term because you're working against yourself.
You avoid important things because failure feels terrifying. Then you criticize yourself for avoiding them. The cycle keeps repeating.
Whether you're a perfectionist or feel like you're falling behind, the internal commentary is harsh. Your relationships suffer because you're distracted by self-judgment.
Therapy helps you change that inner dialogue.
Learning to treat yourself with basic kindness isn't self-indulgent—it's practical. You don't have to be your own obstacle.

I address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, teen issues, anger and stress management, life transitions, aggression, and ADHD. In addition, I am a retired board-certified Special Education teacher with 15 years of experience.

SFBT operates on the principle that individuals are competent and capable of finding solutions to improve their lives. In our sessions, you will have the opportunity to describe your challenges, set personal goals, and provide feedback. Occasionally, I may incorporate other techniques, such as role-playing, if they are beneficial for your progress.
I am committed to supporting those who seek to enhance their emotional well-being.
