Hi, my name is Renee! I have been a licensed social worker for 24 years. I am a CBT therapist working with children, adolescents and adults. I specialize in the area of anxiety and anger management, ADHD regulation strategies, grief and loss. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1998, and my Master's in Social Work in 2000. Do you miss feeling in control of your emotions during day to day interactions with others? Sometimes anxiety and anger can impede important relationships in our life. Do you feel as if you do things like you are driven by a motor, and have difficulty organizing your day to day tasks? I focus on providing my patients with the tools to feel in control of their world again while enjoying a more positive interactions with the important people in their lives.
In our first session together, we will focus on introductions and discuss your expectations for therapy. We will discuss challenges that lead you to therapy services and set some initial goals to work toward. In addition, some individuals may have things they like/dislike about therapy and these things can be addressed as well to ensure we are a good fit.
My strength has always been the ability to listen to my clients, meet them where they are, and to help clients reach their goals. I believe there are triggers for all of us that increase our anger and anxiety. If we are able to prepare for when those triggers can occur, we will often respond better to them in the future.
