Seeking strength, understanding, and a path forward? I'm not your typical therapist. I've walked the walk that you have, not just once, but twice. As a former Marine and law enforcement officer, I know firsthand the pressures, traumas, and unique challenges faced by those in service and beyond. Now, I leverage my experience and clinical expertise to guide individuals grappling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and the invisible wounds of trauma.
During my 9 years of experience, I have been providing psychotherapy to both adolescents and adults across a range of clinical settings. My professional background includes working in the community as a family therapist on an Assertive Community Treatment team, where I treated individuals with serious mental illnesses, as well as serving as a crisis counselor at multiple crisis centers. I also have experience working as a Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Specialist in New York City public schools and as a therapist in a substance abuse treatment clinic.
My clinical work primarily focuses on helping clients manage and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, recognize and regulate anger and develop healthier emotional and behavioral coping strategies. I support clients in identifying triggers, increasing self awareness and building skills to help manage intense emotions in adaptive ways. I also work extensively with individuals experiencing major life transitions, helping them navigate the stressors associated with change, including uncertainty, instability and shifts in identity or roles. Through a collaborative and strengths based approach, I assist clients in building resilience, increasing emotional well being and fostering personal growth during challenging times. My goal is to empower clients to create meaningful and sustainable change in their lives.
I predominantly work with young men struggling with social anxiety disorder. Do you struggle with social anxiety and poor self-confidence? I know that overcoming it is possible! Many come to therapy for social anxiety because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. Often this manifests in feelings of poor self-confidence, poor self-worth, and poor self-confidence. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. Over time clients begin to avoid situations that elicit their anxiety, particularly social situations. This can lead to social isolation and loneliness. Clients will present with complaints of frequent panic attacks, not having a romantic partner, not having friends, not being happy in their jobs and feeling disconnected from life. They are labeled by others as shy, quiet, or introverted. This scenario described myself for much of my life which gives me lived experience to better able to assist you. I help individuals combat their social fears and begin to live a rich and fulfilling life. I do this through cognitive behavioral therapy techniques primarily but also integrate solution-focused therapy, assertiveness training, exposure therapy, and acceptance & commitment therapy. Whether you're a teen struggling to make friends and socialize or you are an adult unable to speak up at work meetings or unable to ask someone out on a date, I'm here for you! Seeking therapy can be frightening but I want to assure you that you will be most welcome if you take that leap of faith!

With years of experience in the mental health field, I provide a supportive, down-to-earth space where you can talk things through without judgment. My approach is collaborative and practical. Welcome! I'm Debra Sollitto. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from New York. I graduated from New York University with a Master's Degree in Social Work. I have been treating clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and various other psychiatric conditions for almost 30 years.
Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time.
I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life.
Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.
I'm Jackie — a licensed clinical social worker and addiction counselor who genuinely loves this work. I trained at NYU Silver and spent years in community mental health, inpatient, and outpatient settings before opening my private practice. I wanted something less clinical and more human.
I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, codependency, relationship struggles, and the kind of life transitions that leave you wondering who you even are anymore. A lot of my clients grew up in homes that felt unpredictable or unsafe — homes where they learned early to read the room, manage everyone else's feelings, and keep the peace at their own expense. They've been the capable one for so long that asking for help feels almost foreign. If that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
Therapy with me is collaborative and conversational. Sessions feel more like a real conversation than a formal appointment. I'll help you understand the patterns underneath the surface stuff — why you react the way you do, where it came from, and what to do about it now. We'll draw from CBT, DBT, and IPT, building real skills along the way. Sometimes you'll leave with something to try between sessions; other times, something to sit with and think about.
My style is warm, direct, and skills-focused. I'll meet you where you are and gently push when it serves your growth, because real change usually means getting a little uncomfortable in a safe space. Humor shows up too — the hard stuff goes down easier when we can laugh at parts of it.
Asking for help isn't weakness. It's one of the braver things you can do.
