I completed my graduate degree at Simmons School of Social Work in Boston Massachusetts, getting an MSW, and an Urban Leadership certificate. I have been licensed and doing psychotherapy since 2013. My last job before doing psychotherapy full time was working in an emergency room alongside psychiatric residents doing crisis evaluations, advocating for all populations to get them the proper level of care needed. I like to think in psychotherapy session’s that, “I meet people where they are at in life”, and take it from there. I am an empath and proud of it. Reaching out for help in the form of therapy is not an easy thing to do as many can attest, but by reading this biography, you are taking the first step in getting help for yourself or a loved one. At times, life offers many struggles and obstacles that can be difficult to overcome alone. Engaging in therapy will provide opportunities to explore and process the thoughts and feelings that prevent you from living your best life. Though the thought of therapy may be intimidating and even nerve-wrecking for some, I believe once a person finds the right therapist, they find a trusting confidant who seeks to understand and problem solve.

My name is Ryan, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I graduated with my MS in Clinical Mental Health Care at Bay Path University in 2018. I have worked in an outpatient setting, as a therapist, since the fall of 2018. Prior to completing my program, I gained valuable experience through Crisis services as a clinician and support counselor. I have worked with people of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds. My therapeutic approach is eclectic with attention to client centered, a more holistic approach which encompasses the entire body as we tend to suffer as a whole being. I want to work with those to reintegrate those parts. People often do not realize the power of our thoughts and how it can negatively impact our overall wellbeing. I often tell people that our brain is a powerful tool. We are built to survive rather than thrive- this is a primordial skill that has not left us, but we have more effective tools. It is important to me to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and comfortable space to talk about uncomfortable life situations. I do well within the neurodivergent community, and have aided in navigating difficult milestones in their lives.

Art has a way of getting to the heart of the matter very quickly to foster self discovery, growth and healing. You do not need to be an artist to do art therapy. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Arizona and Indiana. I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Purdue University and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary. I have had the opportunity to work in and gain knowledge from a diverse collection of settings that include elementary, middle and high school, hospital chaplaincy department, private practice and private agencies working with families in the child welfare system. Each of these settings has provided me with hands-on experience working with individuals and families in crisis, as well as those who are faced with navigating some of life’s challenges such as divorce, loss, and addiction. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I love a systems approach, understanding that we do not exist in a vacuum, but rather are part of larger systems. I take a non-judgmental, warm approach to therapy and I believe in tailoring my therapy towards my client's individual needs. Together we will establish goals and design a path towards a healthier way of being. I draw from a multitude of therapeutic techniques that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solutions Focused Therapy. Clients who work with me have a desire to change. Whether facing everyday challenges that are holding them back from living a fulfilling life or struggling with family dynamics that have caused distress or trying to navigate through grief, my clients can learn to use their insight to find new ways of functioning that better serve what they want from this life. My clients can see a future for themselves that brings peace, happiness and healing. The first step towards seeking help is often the most difficult. You are here hoping to find that therapist who stands out to you because you want to find someone who can help you. The search can be overwhelming for some. Most of the profiles of therapists are going to say similar things. Most of which should be standard like brakes on a car. I cannot promise I'm the right one for you. Here is what I can tell you about my approach. I believe in being practical which means I will not use a lot of psycho-babble or fancy strategies. I have a tendency to be blunt. My wife says I'm the "bluntest politest man" she has ever met. I'm going to be real with you. I love couples/marriage counseling, and that is my main focus. However, about half of my clients have always been individuals. Some people just need a place to vent. Others need help solving a problem, and most people need a little of both. I know therapy might be a little intimidating or even scary to some. Try to think of it as a massage for your brain. It's a place where you can say whatever you want guilt-free.

As an existentially oriented psychotherapist with 25 years of experience treating a range of people in a variety of settings, I work most effectively with people who are open to mindfulness and other spiritual modalities. We will work together to create an alliance as we negotiate life's inevitable challenges by establishing empathy and understanding while maintaining a strategic and solution-focused stance. Most recently, I have been influenced by Internal Family Systems therapy and have found this as a useful adjunct to my practice. I draw on a significant number of resources in my work with my clients. This will include poetry, art, music, philosophy, spiritual teachings, and literature. An openness to art and other wisdom/learning traditions can assist patients with growth as well as the normalization of the human struggle.

My name is Nadine Thompson, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I earned my Master of Social Work degree, specializing in Clinical Practice, from Smith College School of Social Work in 1991. I also have post-graduate certification in Addiction counseling, multicultural practice, DBT, and Couples and Family Therapy. I've worked in many different settings with individuals and families who have a variety of personal issues such as depression/anxiety, stress, family problems, trauma/abuse, addiction, relationships/parenting, and more. Over the past 30 years as a clinician, my experience has taught me that the most important aspect of counseling by far is the rapport, connection, and comfort you feel with your therapist. Recently, I have come to really see the value in being able "to hold space" for clients to express their deepest feelings and possibly find the answers and direction that they need as they become more self-aware. We all want to be able to share our personal truths and be accepted and understood. I believe in the power of “telling our stories”, as a pathway to healing and resilience. Our work together may include you being able to see yourself and those around you more clearly and develop tools and strategies for creating change in your life.

Welcome to my therapy room, a warm, non-judgmental space where we’ll uncover your inner wisdom together. As a therapist, I bring a person-centered, solution-focused approach, believing the answers you seek are already within you, waiting to be illuminated with a gentle flashlight. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a Polish refugee from the 1980s, I’ve navigated trauma and resilience, which informs my empathic practice in my 40s.

During a 13-year career in industry working as an engineer, I became inspired through a steady variety of volunteer work helping others within my community. I returned to school and earned my Master of Social Work degree. Recognizing that our body actively participates in all of our life experiences, I completed my Massage Therapy Certification. As I continued to work with more people in therapy, I learned about a novel approach that I could use to bridge these two disciplines, and I became a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and I virtually assist folks living in Florida, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. For over 30 years I have worked with people within adolescent, adult, and elder populations, US military veterans, and folks in the LGBTQIA+ community. Many have struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, gender incongruence, mood disorders, psychosis, substance use disorders, grief and loss, and chronic pain and illness.

If you are reading this, you are taking the hardest step: Looking for the right therapist. A little about me: I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been practicing as a Clinician for 10 years. I received my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College in Boston. Prior to this, I "temporarily" moved to Quincy, Massachusetts from a suburb outside of Philadelphia after my Father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that metastasized to his liver. I loved the city of Boston so much, I never went back. In 10 years, I have worked inpatient, outpatient, PHP, long term residential, you name it.
