My day job is as a school adjustment counselor in a public high school. Prior to becoming an adjustment counselor I have worked in ABA, in schools as a support staff, and in a residential treatment center. My undergraduate degree is in Expressive Arts Therapy, which leans into creative processes to help in the therapeutic process. My graduate degree is in Mental Health Counseling with a School Adjustment Counseling certification. I enjoy working with clients to help support them in their healing, whatever that may look like.
After having a career in the medical and academic fields, I went back to college to earn my MSW and LCSW. My focus was to develop the skills necessary to help people in my community. My mission is to give back to the community and to help those who need to overcome the paralyzing effects of depression, anxiety, and dysfunctional thinking rather caused by academic stress/change, a medical condition, relationship issues or life stresses. People suffering from depression, anxiety, panic, and OCD are often not only battling the disease but also its impact on their families. The impacts are great. The impact can be job loss or change, financial issues, marriage difficulties, or family dynamic shifts. Most patients have one or more of these impacts to deal with at the same time they are dealing with their condition. The combination can be very overwhelming and difficult to understand. My focus is to help my clients learn to cope with the new challenges of their condition. Together, we will explore the tools that can be used to learn to cope. I believe that together we can make a very difficult time easier
Hello there, I am Desire.
You might be wondering how therapy can help or how it might work for you.
Therapy can be a vehicle to address any number of needs or areas of healing in one's life. I believe therapy looks like more than just talking about thoughts and emotions - though that is certainly part of it. It is about figuring out how to feel empowered, how to cope with life's worries and stressors, and how to overcome the hurts of the past. Therapy can be an effective answer in learning how to deal with any number of issues, including trauma, anxiety, work or relationship challenges, loss and depression, or just figuring out a better way to meet any goals you may have for yourself in life to live more happily and feel more fulfilled.
I view a healthy therapeutic relationship as being one where you can be comfortable, heard, and seen to help create a safe space for exploration and growth. I see my role as a therapist as providing education and support that builds trust to allow us to figure out the path to get from where you are to where you would like to be.
Hi! My name is Lucy and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) as well as being certified in perinatal mental health counseling (PMH-C). I am committed to supporting women of all ages through all of life's struggles, conflicts, or transitions as well as the unique challenges of the perinatal period. When life events bring up emotions and reactions such as anxiety, sadness, anger, and trouble coping with trauma, I truly believe that these issues cannot be processed alone. My approach is rooted in creating a safe and inclusive space where my clients can explore their experiences, feelings, and identities with compassion and understanding.
Hi! I’m really glad you’re here.
If you’re feeling anxious, low, or stuck in patterns that are hard to break, whether it's around your emotions, relationships, or day-to-day life, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. I’m currently accepting new clients, and I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this part of your journey.
I work with people who are tired of just getting through the day and wondering if things will ever feel easier. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you’re carrying too much on your own, therapy can be a place to finally exhale. I offer a space where you can be real, slow down, and start sorting through what’s been weighing you down.
My style is warm, honest, and supportive. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll gently explore what’s behind the stress, heaviness, or patterns that keep showing up. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but with the right support, meaningful change is possible.
If any of this resonates with you, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to answer any questions and help you feel more at ease about starting therapy. I look forward to meeting with you and being part of your healing journey!
