New to Grow
I am a Latina clinician from Puerto Rico, fully bilingual in English and Spanish. I enjoy working one-on-one with adults who are navigating life, trying to reconnect with themselves, and figuring things out at their own pace. My work is integrative, with a strong focus on trauma-informed, attachment-based, relational, and gender-affirming care. I value empathy, human connection, and creating a space where clients can feel safe enough to explore their unique story without judgment. Much of my work centers on exploring before defining, reconnecting to safety within ourselves, and creating grounded, tangible growth in a world that often does not give us space to feel. My style is warm, honest, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity, vulnerability, and meaningful connection.
The first session is more about getting to know each other and seeing if we’re a good fit. I like to learn about your life as a whole and understand different areas of your experiences, almost like exploring pieces of a puzzle together to see the bigger picture. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, and what goals you may have, even if you’re still figuring them out. If you’re worried about what to say, that’s completely okay, I’ll help guide the conversation. I understand therapy can feel intimidating at first, so I focus on creating a space that feels safe, collaborative, and grounded while we figure things out together at your pace.
What stands out about my work is the way I integrate trauma-informed, attachment-based, relational, and culturally aware perspectives while keeping therapy grounded and practical. I focus on helping clients understand the connection between emotions, relationships, identity, culture, and lived experiences in a compassionate and honest way. As a Puerto Rican Latina clinician, my culture and identity are deeply important to me and naturally influence the way I connect with others in therapy. I value authenticity, empathy, and the human relationship as an important part of healing and growth. I support clients in building insight, emotional regulation, self-understanding, and practical tools for change while honoring each person’s unique pace. My style is warm, collaborative, direct when needed, and focused on planting seeds for meaningful and lasting growth.
I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults of diverse gender identities, including women, men, non-binary, transgender, and gender fluid individuals. I provide individual therapy for clients navigating anxiety, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and trauma-related concerns. My ideal clients are motivated for change, open to reflection, and willing to engage consistently in the therapeutic process. They may be seeking support in understanding themselves more deeply, improving emotional regulation, building healthier relationships, and creating meaningful, values-aligned change in their lives.
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in a trauma-informed way to help clients build psychological flexibility and reduce avoidance. I support clients in noticing thoughts and emotions without judgment, grounding in the present moment, and identifying personal values. In session, I use simple mindfulness skills, cognitive defusion, and values work to help clients take small, meaningful steps even when difficult emotions are present. I adapt interventions based on the client’s needs and pace.
Attachment-based
I use attachment-based approaches to understand how early relationships and connection patterns influence how clients relate to themselves and others. In session, I focus on building a safe and consistent therapeutic relationship while helping clients explore their attachment styles and relational patterns. I support clients in increasing awareness, emotional regulation, and developing healthier and more secure ways of connecting in relationships.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills in a practical, skills-based way to support clients with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. In session, I help clients identify patterns of emotional reactivity and learn concrete skills to manage intense emotions, communicate needs more effectively, and reduce impulsive behaviors. I adapt DBT tools to the client’s needs and focus on building skills they can apply in daily life.
EMDR
I use EMDR-informed approaches to help clients process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional intensity tied to them. In practice, I focus on stabilization first, including grounding and coping skills, before supporting clients in identifying target memories. I use bilateral stimulation in a structured way to help clients process experiences at their own pace, while maintaining a sense of safety and control throughout the work.
Gender-affirming therapy
I provide gender-affirming therapy that supports clients in exploring and expressing their gender identity in a safe and nonjudgmental space. In practice, I focus on validating each client’s lived experience, using their chosen name and pronouns, and supporting them in navigating identity exploration, transition-related concerns, and any related emotional or relational challenges. I aim to create a collaborative and affirming environment where clients feel respected and supported in their identity.
