Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and the owner of Swartz Counseling, LLC. I received my master’s degree from Lesley University and have been in private practice since 2022. Using an integrative approach, I tailor therapy to each client, incorporating a variety of evidence-based techniques to foster growth and healing. My goal is to provide a compassionate, empowering space where you can navigate challenges with confidence.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session, we’ll take the time to explore your history, discuss what brought you to therapy, and identify your goals. We’ll dive deeper into your experiences, challenges, and strengths to better understand your unique needs. I’ll also pay close attention to what therapeutic style feels most supportive and effective for you. Together, we’ll create a personalized therapy plan that outlines our approach and the steps we’ll take to help you move forward. This session is about building a foundation of trust, clarity, and collaboration to ensure you feel supported from the very start.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I strive to create a space where you always feel heard, understood, and supported. I bring creativity to my approach, tailoring therapy to fit your unique needs and ensuring that our work together is both engaging and effective. I’m detail-oriented, paying close attention to the nuances of your experiences to inform our work. Above all, I am warm, personable, and empathetic, building strong connections with my clients to foster trust and collaboration in the therapeutic process. My goal is to empower you to feel seen and valued throughout our time together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am passionate about supporting women through life transitions, fertility struggles, pregnancy loss, perinatal mental health challenges, and parenthood because I understand the profound impact these experiences have on mental well-being. These seasons of life can be overwhelming, isolating, and deeply emotional, and I believe every woman deserves a space to feel heard and supported. My goal is to help you navigate the highs and lows with compassion, practical tools, and a personalized approach to healing. You don’t have to go through it alone—I'm here to walk with you every step of the way.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach in therapy to help clients recognize and build upon their existing resilience, skills, and personal strengths. This perspective fosters empowerment and self-efficacy, shifting the focus from problems to possibilities and growth. In practice, this may involve identifying past successes, exploring personal values, and developing strategies that align with a client’s strengths to navigate challenges. Research shows that a strength-based approach can enhance self-esteem, motivation, and overall well-being. By highlighting what is already working, I help clients cultivate confidence and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

Integrative

I use an integrative therapy approach, blending evidence-based techniques to meet your unique needs. This means our sessions may incorporate cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, somatic work, or insight-oriented techniques, depending on what feels most effective for you. By tailoring therapy in this way, we can address challenges holistically—helping you build self-awareness, develop coping skills, and foster meaningful change. Integrative therapy is flexible and evolves with you, ensuring a personalized path to healing. My goal is to create a supportive, adaptive space where you feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

Interpersonal

I use an interpersonal approach to therapy by focusing on the impact of relationships, communication patterns, and social support on mental well-being. This approach helps clients improve relational dynamics, build stronger connections, and develop healthier ways of expressing emotions. In sessions, we explore past and present relationships, identify patterns that may contribute to distress, and work on developing more effective interpersonal skills. Strengthening these connections can lead to improved self-esteem, reduced stress, and greater emotional resilience. By fostering meaningful relationships and supportive networks, this approach enhances overall mental health and personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice as a structured, goal-oriented approach to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. With specialized training in CBT, I use this evidence-based treatment to support women facing perinatal and postpartum mental health challenges, including anxiety and depression, as well as a multitude of various other life stressors. CBT is backed by extensive research and has been shown to effectively reduce distress by fostering healthier coping strategies and reshaping negative thinking. In sessions, we work together to identify specific concerns, develop practical tools, and implement strategies such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and mindfulness techniques. This approach empowers you with skills to navigate motherhood and life’s transitions with greater confidence and resilience
