Welcome! I'm an LCSW-C practicing virtually throughout Maryland, with almost 40 years of experience in mental health settings. I work with adults across the lifespan, from young adulthood through middle age and into the later chapters of life. I’m particularly interested in the challenges, transitions, and opportunities that come with each stage—and in helping people navigate the changes that are simply part of being human. Depending on where you are in life, that might include changing relationships and family roles, career transitions, caregiving, retirement or choosing to work beyond traditional retirement age, grief and loss, chronic illness or pain, living alone, or questions about identity, purpose, meaning, aging, mortality, and what comes next. I also enjoy working with busy professionals managing demanding careers and frequent work travel, as well as parents trying to support young adult or adult children who are struggling with mental health concerns, ADHD, autism, independence, identity, relationships, or finding their way in adulthood. Many of my clients aren't in crisis—they're simply at an important crossroads. I bring a warm, thoughtful, down-to-earth approach to helping people slow down, sort through what's happening, and decide how they want to move forward. My services are virtual only. Appointments are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings.

Hello! I am so glad that you are here. I have over 13 years of clinical work experience and experience working with a variety of populations. After completing an undergraduate degree in Social Work, I completed my Masters of Social Work at the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2013. I have also completed a post graduate certificate in Childhood trauma. At this time, my primary practice areas are anxiety disorders, college students, young professionals, family of origin issues, adult children of alcoholics, parents of neurodivergent children, parenting small children, depression, phase of life and relationship issues, women’s issues, perinatal mental health and LGBTQ issues. I work with individuals of all genders over the age of 16. However, I am most passionate about working with women and the LGBTQ population. ***If you can not find a time that works with your schedule, please reach out to me, as I may have more availability than shown.*** NOTE: I prefer to schedule a consultation prior to the intake, in order to determine whether we are a good fit for each other. For 13 years, I have provided compassionate strength-based therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. I conduct diagnostic assessments and create treatment plans that will support and empower clients to manifest change in their lives. Often, we all go through difficult times. Times of despair, painful circumstances, and distress; Situations that many times affect our peace of mind and our relationships with ourselves and others. Sometimes, we even question the purpose of our lives because we feel like there is no purpose for what we are going through. As a caring clinician, I allow and encouraged my client to create a space for healing, where they feel in control of choosing their own path to freedom and sense of control.

Hi, I'm Gabriella, I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) since 2013, but I have been in the mental health field since 2006. We all know that in recent years, specifically starting in 2020, our life as we knew it drastically changed. Our relationships with our family, friends, coworkers and even ourselves appeared to stall indefinitely. We had to learn to maneuver in different ways to try and have a sense of "normalcy." But as we tried to navigate this new way of life, our mental health has suffered. We have noticed that depression, anxiety, and relationship/interpersonal issues have been rising because we have isolated ourselves for so long. As people, we are social beings and tend to gravitate towards social situations. Within the last year, rules and mandates have eased, and we are resuming to our "new normal," and maybe we are feeling hesitant and vulnerable to step out. Reaching out for help is very difficult but the most rewarding decisions you make. We can work together to make step by step goals so you can achieve your success.

Are you looking to improve your communication, strengthen your relationships, and manage conflict more effectively? Interpersonal skills are the foundation of healthy and thriving relationships—both personal and professional. If you are recovering from an emotionally abusive or narcissistic relationship and feel disconnected from yourself, therapy can also help you rebuild your identity, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and develop healthier relationship patterns. I am a relationship counselor, currently providing individual and group therapy for adults aged 18 and older. I specialize in helping clients improve their relationship with themselves through personal growth and the development of healthier interpersonal skills, including communication, conflict resolution, anger management, boundary-setting, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills. Many individuals struggling in unhealthy, emotionally abusive, or narcissistic relationship dynamics often lose their sense of self, confidence, voice, and emotional balance within those relationships. A major focus of my work is helping clients reconnect with themselves, rebuild healthier patterns, and strengthen how they show up in relationships with others. How you relate to yourself impacts every relationship in your life. When you learn to communicate effectively, set healthy boundaries, manage emotions, and navigate challenges in healthier ways, your relationships often become stronger, more balanced, and more fulfilling. This growth can improve confidence, reduce stress, and support overall emotional wellness. I provide a supportive environment where clients can increase self-awareness, create meaningful change, and develop healthier connections with themselves and others. Greetings, my name is John Luke. I am a licensed clinical social worker and specialize in helping people to effectively manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns using cognitive behavioral techniques. I have worked with a range of populations, nearly all ages, and also have experience with addiction treatment and life-coaching. I work with people to develop insight into the source of their problems, how their core beliefs about the world might be hindering their progress, and focus on their natural strengths to overcome those barriers with practical skills that generate sustainable change. Some of my other specialties include short-term, solution-focused therapy; cognitive behavioral therapy techniques; psychodynamic approaches; and marital counseling. Some of the problems I am particularly keen on solving with my clients include issues with self-image and confidence; dating and relationships; boundary-setting and assertive communication; as well as general anxiety management; and learning to identify and productively resolve emotional unrest. I am also very experienced in cognitive restructuring, which is just a fancy way of saying helping to change the way a person thinks about the world and their place in it. I also enjoy aiding people in goal setting and identification, meaning-making, and navigating family conflicts. If you feel any of this could be helpful or useful to you, please do not hesitate to reach out! (Note: I do work with couples, but only on a cash-pay basis. Also, I only work with ages 18+)

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, who has served Southern Maryland and the DC metropolitan area for over 20 years. A Nationally Board Certified Counselor, and a member of the American Counseling Association, and fully insured through HPSO. As a former Law Enforcement Officer, I am passionate about assisting those who have served as first responders and in the military; treating PTSD, and a focus on vicarious or secondary trauma. I also have a passion for working with children and adults diagnosed with ADHD. This often misdiagnosed and under-reported neurodevelopment disorder is stigmatized and misrepresented as being “lazy” or “unmotivated”, while understating the extreme barriers that contribute to one’s ability to meet societal norms of being goal or task oriented and organized. I love to help clients see the magic of their A-Typical Brains and bring light to all of the various challenges that a person with ADHD encounters in day to day life. Learning to leverage their differences as an asset and not a deficit by assisting them in creating opportunities for growth and success; through development of adaptive coping skills

Hello, I’m Kumi Pledger, LCPC, and I am currently accepting new clients. I am also available on Sundays to better accommodate busy schedules. I provide a warm and supportive space for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, self-doubt, or major life transitions. Many of my clients appear strong and capable on the outside while privately feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from themselves. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and gently direct. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, I help clients understand the patterns beneath their struggles, develop practical coping skills, strengthen boundaries, and rebuild trust in themselves. With a multicultural background and diverse life experiences, I am especially mindful of how culture, family expectations, identity, and caregiving responsibilities can affect emotional well-being. My goal is to help you feel genuinely understood as you create a life that feels more peaceful, confident, and authentic.

Thank you for viewing my profile. I am currently accepting new clients via telehealth. I like to make scheduling more conducive and less complex for my clients therefore, my scheduling is not rigid to only posted availability. I offer clients a wide range of availability with scheduling (to include evenings and weekends)....which can be arranged via email or phone consultation. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland. I am Trauma Certified, National Certified Counselor and board-certified member of the National Board of Certified Counselors. I earned my master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I believe the client is the expert in their situation and work with the client to assist them in reaching their maximal potential. I also realize how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems, work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process. My therapeutic approach is diverse, eclectic, and curtailed to the individual not a “one size fits all”.

So, whenever you're ready, don't hesitate to get in touch with me, and let me share your path to grow towards a better tomorrow.

It can be from childhood, the more recent past or is a current issue with which you are dealing right now. Please know that everyone goes through these things and it is just a matter of finding someone to work through these issues, and challenges with you. I am happy to do that with you. Whether it has been children, teens, young adults, adults, individuals, couples, families or seniors who are dealing with life challenges, we have successfully navigated down their path so that they could get to the other side of the challenge. For some, it has been easy without a lot of work to do, just understanding the hows and whys of what is occurring. For others, more work is involved as they deal with relationships of one sort or another. There is always work for the client to do and it is my job and my honor to help you to do these things. You are not alone. I am here and we will work together in whatever challenge you have that is creating an issue in your life.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
