I received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 1985 and my Master's degree in Social Work in 1999. I earned my LICSW in DC in 2002. In December 2025, I earned my Clinical license in Maryland (LCSW-C). I like talking with people--but more importantly, listening to people. To me, therapy is a block of time. It is an opportunity for people to talk to someone who is not a parent, brother, sister, spouse or even best friend. My goal is to listen to you and to help you consider options in your life.
We're all living life for the first time. It is full of twists and turns. When we think we have it all figured out....we don't. I bring support and comfort to those difficult phases in life when we're transitioning into something new, becoming more of who we want to be. These changes can be hard and scary at times but with the right support you can navigate them. Anxiety. depressions, transitional phases, parenting, women's issues are my areas of expertise.
Identifying and utilizing the strengths you already have inside of you is our first step. You have taken the first step to major life changes, finding a therapist. Now let's work together in a solution focused way to help you reach your goals and continue to grow.
You don't have to navigate your challenges alone. I will be here to be a thought partner and a guide along side you. I look forward to watching you grow.
I serve as a practical assistant and thought partner for individuals seeking to process their thoughts, organize daily habits, and explore personal development strategies to increase personal growth. I enjoy using solution focused methods to help brainstorm coping strategies, learn psychological frameworks, and map out goals for personal growth. I work to help decrease stress that can be overwhelming and deal with challenges to help navigate overall well-being.

Hi! I’m Christina Fals, LCSW (she/her/hers) — a bilingual Hispanic American Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Washington, D.C., offering virtual therapy for clients in D.C. and Maryland. I provide a compassionate, culturally affirming space for individuals navigating life’s transitions, identity exploration, and emotional healing.
I work with older children and teens (ages 12–17), as well as young adults and professionals in their 20s to 40s who are balancing multiple roles — student, partner, caregiver, or professional — while striving to feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally balanced. Many of my clients identify as Latino/a/x, multicultural, or queer, seeking a therapist who truly understands the intersection of culture, identity, and emotional well-being.
Hello, I am a cognitive behavioral therapist with a focus on adults and couples who are experiencing adjustment disorders, depression, grief, anxiety, and trauma. I have recently retired from my role in the psychology department of the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (Maryland's Prison System). Prior to my work with the State of Maryland, I taught psychology to undergraduate students in my hometown of Buffalo, New York.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who believes therapy should feel like a safe, comfortable, and judgment-free space where you can be yourself and talk openly about what’s really going on. I’m down-to-earth, relatable, straightforward, and very solution-focused in my approach. I understand that life can get complicated, and sometimes you need a space where you can put everything on the table without worrying about being judged, criticized, or misunderstood.
I’ll meet you where you are, listen to understand your experiences, and give you the space you need to process your thoughts and feelings. At the same time, I’m not a therapist who will simply sit back, nod my head, and tell you what you want to hear. When needed, I’ll ask the difficult questions, challenge you, help you recognize patterns, and encourage you to look at situations from a different perspective.
Most importantly, I believe therapy should help you move forward. We’ll talk about the problem, but we’re also going to work together to figure out what you can realistically do about it. My goal is to help you gain insight, recognize your strengths, develop practical tools, and find solutions that actually make sense for your life.
My career began with a strong community focus, including service at the first free health clinic dedicated to supporting the HIV-impacted community and early work in community mental health. In my 28 years of clinical experience I have maintained a child and family-centered approach while broadening my expertise across a wide range of settings, including inpatient residential care, hospital social work, nephrology, crisis and trauma counseling for children and adults, military social work, and academia. My practice includes supporting individuals through transitions, grief, depression, chronic pain, and complex social service needs. I hold postgraduate training in social welfare and psychology, which has enriched my skills and informed my integrative, client-centered approach aimed at fostering resilience and healing.
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker based in Maryland. I received my master's degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and have been practicing for 14 years clinically and working in the human services field for 27 years. I have experience working in law enforcement and have an undergraduate degree in criminal justice. I have an Employee Assistance Program certification which focuses on the work/life balance and solution-focused therapy which assists in finding solutions to problems to improve clients' daily quality of life.
First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perspective. I offer various ways to see and respond to situations that might otherwise not be considered. Your opinion as a client is the most important one and I will also honestly provide mine when asked for. I believe therapy can actually be something that you can look forward to and an opportunity to learn new skills to use long after you discontinue, and we can even have some fun and laughs along the journey.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, I have dedicated my career to walking alongside individuals through their healing and growth journeys, beginning as a child and adolescent therapist before expanding my practice to work with adolescents and adults. My approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and my training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, always adapted to honor each client's unique story and strengths. I believe deeply in advocacy; both as something I practice on behalf of my clients and as a critical skill I help them develop for themselves, because sustainable wellness requires individuals to have the tools, voice, and confidence to advocate for their own needs. Beyond the therapy room, I extend this commitment to advocacy through my consulting work, partnering with organizations to build psychologically safe, inclusive, and equity-driven environments where all people can thrive.
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, and I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is feeling safe enough to be yourself. My goal is to create a space where you feel accepted, understood, and never judged. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or neurodivergence, I'll meet you with compassion, curiosity, and genuine respect.
Being autistic gives me a unique perspective on what it can feel like to move through a world that isn't always designed for different ways of thinking and experiencing life. Combined with my professional training, this helps me provide affirming, practical, and empathetic care for neurodivergent and neurotypical clients alike.
Welcome! I am Kimberly. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 14 years of experience providing therapy. Many of us desire a sense of peace, connection, and well-being within ourselves and in our life. Yet life circumstances and even parts of ourselves can prevent us from having these experiences in our day to day lives. Providing a safe and non-judgmental place to explore your struggles and emotional pain is essential to my practice. I feel grateful to be able to support those who desire to grow and heal.
PLEASE NOTE: I work from 8am-3:30pm Mon-Thurs. I do not have late afternoon or evening sessions available.

I will walk with you through the difficult, gritty and frightening places you may need to metabolize/unpack & will also uplift and celebrate your strengths, growth & resilience. All things are possible with Love, Respect & Wisdom!!!

I am a Marine Corps Veteran, Army wife, a mother, and a former educator. I want to make it clear that I may not be the right therapist for everyone, and neither do I strive to be. I focus on finding solutions that work for you. I am not a "how do you feel about that" therapist. I am a reality therapist who can provide long-term help for various mental health issues. I am a faith-based therapist who believes in God, but ultimately, my passion lies in helping people, regardless of their beliefs. I am dedicated to helping others reach their full potential, regardless of their beliefs. I am a former school therapist, and for the last 6 years, I've been working with adults (basically, after my cohort of students graduated, about 60% wanted to keep me as a therapist, and I started working with both teens and adults). I am the therapist who will be invested in your change; I will not always agree with you, I will challenge you, I will always be honest with you, and I will always have your best interest at heart. Your change is my priority!
Are you juggling a career, aging parents, kids, and your own health — usually in that order, with yourself last? You're not alone, and you don't have to keep running on empty.
I work with women navigating the many chapters of life — starting out in a career, caught in the sandwich generation squeeze, stretched thin by role overload, carrying the mental load of holding everyone else together. Together, we'll build practical strategies to manage stress, set boundaries without guilt, and reconnect with what you actually need.
If you're ready to stop putting yourself last, I'd love to help.
I use an integrative approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused techniques, tailored to your goals and pace. With over 20 years of clinical social work experience across school, medical, and community settings, I bring both deep expertise and genuine warmth to our work together.
My counseling style is warm, interactive, and collaborative — I believe deeply in treating every client with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I tailor my approach to meet each client's unique needs, drawing on cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapy to help you move toward meaningful, lasting change. I meet you where you are, and we work together to define and achieve your goals at a pace that feels right for you.
I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, ADHD, chronic health conditions, and perinatal mental health — including postpartum depression. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling life and to take that first step toward change. If you're ready, I am here to support and empower you.
Hello, my name is Ronak Makadia, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D.) with additional training in social work (MSW). As a second-generation, Asian American I quickly learned the stigma and shame attached to attending therapy, especially within the Asian American community. As a cis-gender woman of color, I value and will provide culturally competent services.
Please note that I only accept adults and older adults who are high-functioning but need support to overcome barriers. Due to the nature of my private practice, I am unable to accept clients who are seeking treatment for trauma, substance use or severe mental illness.
I work alongside patients to overcome any barriers they may be facing. I will always encourage you to create, learn, and consistently use healthy coping mechanisms. To avoid staying stuck, I collaborate with you in developing solutions to aid you in moving forward in your life. We all get stuck sometimes and I am here to help. Therapy does not have to be a painful experience and I will be here to guide you toward improvement in a welcoming, affirmative environment.
I support the movement to destigmatize therapy and make mental health care accessible for all. I will continue to support this mission and provide quality counseling. Talk to me about scheduling a first appointment if you are interested in working together.
I look forward to working with you!

I am a psychotherapist who works with a diverse population of people. My goal is to collaborate with individuals to assist them in achieving their therapy goal(S). My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I have a specialization in working with Veterans, LGBTQI, men, and people of color populations. However, I work with all people who are seeking mental health services. I am licensed in DC (LICSW), VA (LCSW), MD (LCSW-C), and PA (LCSW). Hi I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I received my Master's Degree in 2010 from Loyola University and have been seeing clients since then . I especially enjoy helping adults deal with stressful transitions and challenges in life. My goal is to help clients gain insight and understanding about their challenges so that we together can find helpful solutions.
Are you looking to improve your communication, strengthen your relationships, and manage conflict more effectively? Interpersonal skills are the foundation of healthy and thriving relationships—both personal and professional. If you are recovering from an emotionally abusive or narcissistic relationship and feel disconnected from yourself, therapy can also help you rebuild your identity, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and develop healthier relationship patterns.
I am a relationship counselor, currently providing individual and group therapy for adults aged 18 and older. I specialize in helping clients improve their relationship with themselves through personal growth and the development of healthier interpersonal skills, including communication, conflict resolution, anger management, boundary-setting, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills. Many individuals struggling in unhealthy, emotionally abusive, or narcissistic relationship dynamics often lose their sense of self, confidence, voice, and emotional balance within those relationships. A major focus of my work is helping clients reconnect with themselves, rebuild healthier patterns, and strengthen how they show up in relationships with others.
How you relate to yourself impacts every relationship in your life. When you learn to communicate effectively, set healthy boundaries, manage emotions, and navigate challenges in healthier ways, your relationships often become stronger, more balanced, and more fulfilling. This growth can improve confidence, reduce stress, and support overall emotional wellness.
I provide a supportive environment where clients can increase self-awareness, create meaningful change, and develop healthier connections with themselves and others. Schedule an appointment with me to begin your wellness journey.
I received my Bachelors degree in Government & Politics, then worked as a mobile dog groomer for many years and then finally got my Masters degree in Pastoral Counseling which just means I am a regular counselor, but see value in a client's religious/spiritual faith, if they have one, in bringing more tools to the table in order to help them work on issues they have. However, I have worked with plenty of clients who are atheist, searching or do not wish to bring their religion/spirituality into the counseling realm.
