New to Grow
Hi, I'm Kelly. I am an action-oriented trauma and OCD therapist that works with clients who want to feel differently than the current way they are feeling. Perhaps, you experienced a traumatic event(s) or perhaps, you are feeling overwhelmed with intrusive thoughts/ worry, rumination and/or compulsions. You just want to feel better, but maybe you don't know where to start; I can help. I have extensive training in trauma and PTSD treatment. EMDR
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a psychotherapy technique designed to help individuals process and heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. It involves encouraging a client to focus briefly on a memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the memories. This heavily researched process is believed to help reduce the emotional impact of the memories and facilitate their processing, leading to a reduction in PTSD, trauma and other distressing symptoms.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP involves gradually and safely facing the thoughts, images, or situations that trigger anxiety, while learning to resist the urge to engage in rituals or avoidance. Over time, this process helps reduce anxiety and builds trust in your ability to cope, creating lasting change.
