Hello, my name is Shondelle Johnson-Pugh. I am licensed as an LCSWC in the state of Maryland. Although I have worked with individuals and families for over 22 years. Most recently, I have been blessed with the opportunity to provide therapeutic services for the last five years. My background consists of providing services to those seeking support in the areas of maternal mental health, depression, relationship issues, improvement in self-esteem, and defining coping skills. Services are provided via telehealth services only during selective evening hours. During scheduled sessions, clients can expect honest and supportive feedback on areas addressed in sessions. If you are looking for someone to bring energy and a sense of humor during sessions when needed, look no further. Together, we can find healthy solutions to the concerns that keep you up at night or keep you in a cycle of questioning what you should do next in your life. It is my hope that I can help plant a seed of hope in each person's life that comes to treatment, and eventually, that seed will grow into a strong fruit!
Clients can expect for their first session to include gathering of information about what brought them to therapy.
My biggest strength is working with teens and young adults in understanding and building self-esteem/self-worth. I focus on the things that clients enjoy or excel at to help guide clients in the therapeutic process and decrease unwanted thoughts and behaviors. I do not provide services for EAP, employment disability, short-term disability, or social security benefits.
I work with individuals and couples 18 years of age or older. I also have history of working with pre-adaptive and post-adoptive families. Ideally, I make attempts to incorporate faith based principles in sessions with my clients. I have found allowing clients to work through the concerns that brought them to therapy is the key to increasing sustainable improvement.
