A client comes in to see her therapist and is 10 minutes late. She sits down and apologizes for her tardiness, to which the therapist replies that no apologies are necessary as clients are only late for their first session.
The vignette illustrates something that I see in clients repeatedly who come into my office. Many should have come in at least a year or two ago but for some reason think that the problems they experience are still manageable.
While I admire the will of many of those who still manage life like the proverbial Dutch Boy and the dike, I believe that asking for help is a strength of its own. In therapy, I come from the perspective of someone that had to receive help at various times in my life. I've also had a meandering career path, meaning that I've worked in several fields and industries prior to becoming a therapist and have been able to do ground-level empathizing with people who work in blue and white-collar professions.
I'm a dedicated therapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), focusing on helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, and stress-related issues. I have over 15 years of experience with adolescents, college students, and adults. I create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where we work together to identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. My goal is to empower you with practical skills and strategies to improve your mental well-being and achieve your personal goals.
Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) and holder of a Masters Degree. I have been practicing for approximately 10 years. I have experience with adults who have struggled with Depression, Trauma, Anxiety, Adjusting to new circumstances, and other mood and relationship disorders. I am a people-person and really enjoy the helping profession. My personality affords me to successfully interact with many individuals who seek assistance in overcoming their life challenges.
Listening to others' stories and supporting them in finding positive paths through challenges has always felt like a natural calling. Even as a child, friends would often reach out, and my mom would joke, "Is the doctor in?" Later on, this passion led to volunteering with kids in creative programs and working in hospice care, where deeper connections were formed. These experiences led to a rewarding role at an outpatient community clinic, where people from all walks of life could share their unique journeys and struggles.
My work with clients have included helping those navigate stress, anxiety, mood disorders, and life transitions. The ideal clients are those who are open to exploring interventions and truly wish to understand themselves more deeply. Therapy is not about achieving perfection but rather finding new perspectives on who we are and how we engage with the world around us. Healing and personal growth rarely follow a straight path, and it's the patience and willingness to try that often make the difference in finding the right way forward.
I have been a licensed clinician for almost 10 years. I have worked with many types of patients who have struggled with varying degrees of anxiety, depression, relationship stressors, struggles with infertility and pregnancy losses, mood disorders and instability, and history of trauma, among other mental health conditions. I specialize in utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectal Behavior Therapy as well as being certified in Trauma therapy to help my patients overcome their challenges in life.

We all know, life gets hectic. I get it! We are all busy, juggling work, family, and everything in between. My goal is to create a space where you can breathe, sort things out, and start moving forward.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and judgment-free, creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Together, we’ll build emotional awareness, practical coping tools, and confidence so you can feel more capable, connected, and at ease in your daily life.
I’m Dr. Adrienne B. Ellis, Psy.D., LCPC, LPC, founder of NTouch Mental Health Services, LLC. I am a compassionate, client-centered therapist dedicated to helping adults (18 and older) navigate life’s challenges with confidence, clarity, and resilience. I proudly serve individuals from diverse backgrounds, including people of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community, in an affirming, culturally responsive, and supportive environment.

Hi there! I believe you are ready to work with a therapist whose work is rooted in compassion, cultural awareness, and intentional growth. If so, I am ready to work with you! I truly enjoy supporting individuals in managing life transitions as they make sense of their experiences and move forward with confidence. My therapeutic work has primarily centered on supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and adult women in various capacities as they navigate identity, relationships, family dynamics, and life transitions. I am especially passionate about creating safe spaces for individuals who are carrying complex family histories, including experiences connected to incarceration, substance use, and generational stress.
I believe healing happens in spaces where people feel seen, respected, and understood. My approach integrates evidence-based practices, psychoeducation, and culturally responsive care to help clients better understand themselves, build emotional resilience, and move forward with clarity. In partnership with my clients, I strive to honor past and cultural experiences, understand present life chapters, co-create visions for the future, and help build new perspectives and pathways.
Before entering private practice, I spent years working with youth and families in school-based and community-based settings. These experiences shaped my commitment to supporting young people during the critical transition into adulthood, when many are learning to redefine who they are and what they want in their lives. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to walk alongside you as you strengthen insight, develop practical tools, and create the life you want. Lastly, I am a dual-licensed psychotherapist and Board-Approved Supervisor in Washington, DC, and Maryland. In my spare time, I enjoy books, coffee, and my fur babies, Joey, Bella, and Natalie.
Greetings, and welcome to the beginning of a new chapter in your life! I am an enthusiastic and motivated therapist dedicated to meeting individuals where they are, while guiding them through their personal journey of growth and healing. With a deep passion for both my client's progress and my own professional development, I create a collaborative, supportive space where lasting change is possible. I believe our greatest gifts often live at the intersection of growth and giving, and I look forward to walking alongside individuals as they rediscover their strengths, gain clarity, and create meaningful change.
