Welcome — I’m Glad You’re Here For more than 13 years, I have had the privilege of helping individuals navigate some of life’s most difficult moments. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and families experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns and diagnoses. I have developed a particular passion for supporting young women, from adolescence through their 40s, as they navigate the emotional, relational, and life challenges that come with growing and finding themselves. I believe therapy should be more than simply talking about what is wrong. It should help you understand yourself, your diagnosis, and how it impacts your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily functioning. My goal is to help you develop practical tools to navigate challenges and create meaningful change. My approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, while remaining individualized to your unique needs. I believe you are the expert on your life, and my role is to help you uncover your strengths, challenge patterns that no longer serve you and develop healthier ways of navigating life. I bring authenticity, compassion and lived experience to my work. I understand that you can know what you should do and still struggle to do it. You can be accomplishing things, caring for everyone else, and quietly struggling inside. Therapy can be the space where you no longer have to carry everything alone. My goal is not simply to help you feel better temporarily. I want to help you create lasting change. Together, we will work toward greater self-understanding, emotional well-being, confidence and resilience, so you can navigate life successfully and become the healthiest, most authentic version of yourself. You do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. You simply have to be willing to take the first step.

First session

Your first session is an opportunity for me to begin understanding you, not just your symptoms or the reason you decided to seek therapy. I conduct a thorough psychosocial evaluation because I believe your current experiences are often connected to the larger story of your life. I want to understand the person behind the presentation. We may explore your childhood and adult experiences, trauma, relationships with your parents and family, family composition, education, health, relationships, work and career, significant life events, and other experiences that have shaped who you are today. I want to understand the whole picture so that I can better understand your thoughts, behaviors, decisions, emotional responses, strengths and the factors that may be influencing or contributing to what you are experiencing now. You will also have the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy, what you hope to change, and what you would like your life to look and feel like moving forward. This is your story, and you get to decide what you are ready to share. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and respected not judged. You may also begin to gain insight into connections between your past experiences and your present circumstances that you may not have recognized before. Therapy begins with understanding. Before we can work toward meaningful change, I want to understand where you have been, where you are now, and where you want to go.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is that I genuinely care about the person sitting across from me. I care deeply about my clients' emotional well-being, their state of mind, and their ability to create meaningful improvements in their lives. I don't believe therapy should feel like simply checking a box or talking in circles. I want our work together to make a noticeable difference. I am an attentive listener, and I listen not only to what you say, but also to the patterns underneath it. Together, we identify maladaptive thoughts, behaviors, and beliefs that may be contributing to the challenges you are experiencing. From there, I help you develop practical, constructive strategies to challenge those patterns and create healthier ways of thinking, responding, and navigating life. I also bring authenticity to my sessions. I believe people can tell when someone is genuinely invested in them, and I strive to create a space where you can be your authentic self without judgment. I meet you where you are not where I think you should be and then work with you to move toward where you want to go. Ultimately, my goal is to help you recognize your strengths, understand yourself more deeply, build confidence in your ability to navigate life's challenges, and continue growing toward self-actualization, the fullest and most authentic version of yourself. I don't simply want to help you get through what brought you to therapy. I want to help you grow through it.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is a young or middle-aged woman who may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or uncertain about what comes next. She may be experiencing depression, anxiety, an emotional crisis, relationship challenges, a breakup, divorce, family problems, or a major life transition. Perhaps you are navigating workplace challenges, career disruptions, motherhood, postpartum changes, or the demands of balancing your career, relationships, family, and personal well-being. Maybe you have spent years taking care of everyone else and suddenly realize that you are struggling to take care of yourself. You may feel stuck, lost, heartbroken, exhausted, or unsure of what your next chapter should look like. You don't have to come to therapy with all the answers. You simply need to be ready to begin finding them. I work especially well with women who want more than a place to vent. I want to help you understand what you are experiencing, process what has happened, recognize the thoughts and patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop the tools and confidence to move forward. Whether you are navigating postpartum changes, a relationship ending, a difficult season at work, family conflict, a career transition, or simply feeling like you have lost your sense of self, therapy can provide a safe space to pause, process, and rebuild. My ideal client is a woman who is ready to move from surviving her circumstances to understanding herself, rebuilding her confidence, navigating challenges with greater clarity and creating a life that feels authentic to who she is becoming.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences. Rather than simply telling you to “think positively,” we will slow down and examine what is actually happening. For example, if you are struggling after a relationship breakup and tell me, “I’m never going to find anyone else. Something must be wrong with me,” we would explore that thought together. I may ask: What happened that led you to believe this? Is this thought based on evidence, or is your pain influencing how you are interpreting the situation? What would you say to a friend who was experiencing the same thing? From there, we can identify the underlying thought pattern, examine how it affects your emotions and behaviors, and work toward a more balanced and realistic perspective. I may help you recognize cognitive patterns such as all-or-nothing thinking, catastrophizing, overgeneralizing, personalization, or negative self-beliefs. I will explain these concepts in language that makes sense to you, so you can begin recognizing them outside of therapy as well. We may then practice reframing the thought, develop an alternative response, and use real-life examples or role-play to help you apply the new perspective. For me, CBT is not about convincing you that everything is fine. It is about helping you learn to pause, examine your thoughts, separate feelings from facts, and choose a healthier response. Over time, my goal is for you to become increasingly capable of recognizing these patterns on your own, so the tools you learn in therapy become tools you can carry with you into everyday life.
