Hi, my name is Kimberly Hutchinson. My goal is to empower you. All of us feel down or overwhelmed at times in our lives, or maybe it even feels like more than that. I'm here to help. With a busy life, additional emotional support, a sense of direction, or help understanding current circumstances may make navigating life's challenges a little easier. By working together to clarify the difficulties or challenges, and then working through them, you can achieve therapeutic goals that enable you to obtain greater self-understanding and grow into a life with less anxiety and a better ability to withstand the stresses of the everyday world. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and I have more than 25 years of experience in the field of mental health. My approach to therapy is collaborative, which means we work together. I use evidence-based cognitive-behavioral and supportive approaches. Sometimes we may talk about the past, but the focus is on the present and helping you move forward. My expertise includes anxiety, depression, domestic violence, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, adjustment, and stress management. I have specializations in neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology (e.g., stroke, health problems), so I also work with individuals who have issues such as ADHD, Asperger's syndrome/autism, the effects of stroke or adjusting to a medical disorder. You can expect a collaborative, practical approach to therapy with achievable goals. I look forward to working with you!

It is fair to say there are a lot of stressors in our society, some so large they can have a huge impact on how we enjoy and navigate our lives. I'm here to tell you it isn't all in your head, you're not alone, and it is ok to ask for help. I am a licensed clinical social worker offering virtual therapy to individuals in Louisiana and Texas. I utilize a client-centered approach, meaning you are the expert in your own life and I am here only to assist you in reaching your goals. Trauma-informed care is a very important part of the services I provide, as I specialize in working with survivors of trauma, with expertise in abuse and assault. I believe it is necessary to acknowledge traumatic experiences throughout our lives and how those experiences may shape our worldview. Trauma is incorporated into the majority of the work I do with clients, it looks different for us all but it exists in some capacity. I am lucky to have had opportunities in my career that have allowed me to expand my practice to include working with individuals experiencing chronic illnesses. I provide a space where folks with chronic illnesses can share openly about the confines of their illnesses and receive validation around those feelings, sometimes for the first time. Most of the time clients are having a very normal reaction to an abnormal situation, no one prepares us for the possibility of chronic illness and little support is available for those who experience it. Lastly, as a queer woman, it is important to me that I provide quality care for LGBTQ teens and adults. Too often, we cannot find providers who hold identities similar to our own. The last few years have allowed me to work with LGBTQ teens in my area and I have learned a great deal from them. I hope to continue this work for some time while growing my practice and providing quality care to anyone who is interested in working with me.

I have been an LCSW for over 30+ years. I prefer working with adults 18 years and over. I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment to aging, trauma, and recovering from loss due to death or divorce. I also treat those with a chronic illness or chronic pain. In addition to being an LCSW in Virginia, I am also credentialed as an LCSW in the state of Louisiana. I will be working with clients only in a teletherapy platform. There are no in person appointments. Due to this, I will not be comfortable working with children or couples at this time. Any one with a major mental illness such as schizophrenia will be referred to providers in the local area in which the client lives. Insurance details and co-pays will be dealt with by a third party contractor. I look forward to hearing from you.

My mission is to be a servant to others by empowering and helping you on your path to emotional wellness. I have helped children, teens and adults with anxiety, depression, mental health disorders, relationship conflict, and parenting concerns; assisted others to heal from acute abuse, childhood and adult traumas. I am also experienced with persons who have migrated to the US from other countries and the barriers that are encountered with those changes. Whether it be acute crises', life surprises, circumstantial stressors or complex traumas; let me teach you new skills or sharpen the ones you already use to either decrease, eliminate or change negative behaviors or unwanted symptoms. I have worked among many different populations and settings (non-profit organizations, state and government facilities, public education, and now private practice) and have learned to navigate through different challenges and with those experiences I have become a person who is compassionate to unique needs and desires. If there is an area of concern that I'm not able to assist you with I will be honest with you and seek assistance or refer you to a better qualified professional.

I understand that life can be overwhelming and we all need someone to listen at times. It can be helpful to evaluate our lives, problems or certain situations in a safe and confidential setting. Making health behavior changes, such as behavior activation or weight management, can be achieved via therapy and I have successfully worked with individuals who wanted to improve their health. I am originally from Germany and I speak English and German. I also lived in Switzerland and England for a while. You are a woman who has been devastated by grief over pregnancy loss, infertility, or postpartum depression and anxiety. You desperately want to find someone to talk to about how alone and sad you feel. You feel heartbroken, ashamed, and angry lately. Your world has stopped while everyone else seems to be living their best life. You find yourself having the same fights with your partner over and over again. Society glamorizes pregnancy and motherhood which can make you feel even more alone and misunderstood. If you see one more pregnancy announcement or social media post about the happiness of motherhood, you might lose it! Your baby is important to you no matter how much time you have spent with them. You want to learn how to keep your baby’s memory alive. You want to learn how to experience happiness during this new transition to motherhood. You want to feel heard by someone without shame or judgment. You are not alone. As a woman, I have been there.

Hi. Welcome to my Grow professional profile! Do you ever wonder, "What is going on."? If your inner dialogue is saying, "Yes that's me, exactly, finally somebody who gets it!" I believe that nobody actually has it all together, but that there are those that pretend like they have it all together but inside feel like an imposter making it day by day and those that don't pretend and are also making it day by day. I like spending time with my husband of many many many years and our 3 children, but mostly my dogs. I enthusiastically invite both those who are high functioning and those who are not functioning persons seeking to improve their overall wellbeing. I don't judge whether you are an LSU fan or a North Carolina fan. All can benefit from mental health services. (maybe one group of fans over the other). My current specific areas of clinical interests are of grief and pregnancy loss of which I constantly explore new treatment approaches and client experiences. I have over 25 years of clinical experience working with diverse classifications of diagnoses, ethnicity, ages, and cultural backgrounds. The most frequent symptoms I can help with are managing ADHD, Depression, Bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, parenting, burnout, insomnia, COVID trauma, grief, and anger. I utilize a mix of CBT and motivational interviewing low key with a fair amount of optimism because CBT helps measure things and motivational interviewing is more people-friendly. FYI I am an experienced LPC-S licensed by the LA licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners 3997. I am also a board approved supervisor in Louisiana. I am a LCMHC in the state of North Carolina (LPC) 19111. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

I am trained in trauma-focused CBT, substance abuse treatment and recovery, work with grief and loss, women's issues and strengths-based therapy. Hello, I am Shari. Are you looking for someone you can feel safe to address your needs and not feel judged? Are you looking for someone authentic and supportive? Are you having difficulty finding someone who will be honest and direct? I work well with anyone who is motivated to start addressing their concerns right away. I believe finding the right therapist can be challenging, but it should not be a barrier to getting help. Finding a therapist should feel comfortable and natural. I am told I have a way of helping people feel as if they have known me before. I like to get an understanding of the source of your problem. Then together we explore how the source influences your thinking. People live life through their experiences which do not always serve us very well in today's time. I also believe in working from a holistic approach. Did you know our daily routines can prolong your recovery or cause mental instability? I have experienced being in a therapeutic relationship and believe in normalizing the need to get help in this way.
