Trained as a psychologist (Ph.D. from Cornell University). Some 20 years later I earned a second graduate degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. I am a fully licensed therapist in the State of Florida. I have taught psychology at Princeton, Tulane, Cornell, and Harvard Medical School. We will spend most of our time creating solutions, instead of analyzing problems. So often, therapy gets bogged down in the endless exploration of problems. Problems are the results of behaviors that didn't work for you in the past. Solutions flow from changes that will work for you starting right now. Solutions make your life better. They bring joy and peace to your life.

*Currently accepting new clients via teletherapy, and in-person.* I am ready to help you! I have been a therapist for 10+ years and my mission is to help you find balance in your life. I view therapy through a holistic standpoint, in which I use the mind and the body to help you get to the wellness that you so deserve. At the moment, I practice in-person and over tele-health, giving us the flexibility to connect conveniently and safely. I received a Master's degree in family psychology, in 2010, from Hardin-Simmons University in Texas. I engage others by helping them feel comfortable while also being solution focused. I prescribe to a Cognitive behavioral approach which helps others see life's problems and solutions in a better light. Some areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, bipolar, problem solving, relationship specialist, communication skills, anger management, coping skills, relaxation exercises, and panic attacks.

I specialize in trauma, anxiety, grief, emotional regulation, relationship concerns, life transitions, and helping clients understand patterns that may be keeping them stuck. My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and increasingly focused on the connection between the mind and body. My advanced credentials and training include CCTP, C-DBT, CAMS-II, CAGCS, Parent Training Specialist II, and additional education in neuropsychotherapy/neurotherapy, mental health and nutrition, and personality disorder treatment. You may be going through big changes in life, fatherhood-motherhood, new marriage, professional challenges, or facing illness, getting older, losing people close to you, moving to a new place, starting over after divorce, or adjusting after a breakup or a change in your military life. These experiences can make anyone wonder who they are, how they relate to others, how they make decisions, and how they deal with grief, change, and conflict. Life keeps giving me chances to adjust to changes in my body, feelings, thoughts, and spirit. Some days are easier than others, and that’s just part of being human. I see it as a way to keep getting stronger, more flexible, and better at handling life. When my emotions feel really strong, I may feel pulled in different directions. But reaching out, connecting with someone, and taking action usually helps me stay resilient and keep moving forward.

Sometimes life blows up in a way you never saw coming. A relationship ends. Someone lies to you. Trust gets shattered. You lose someone you love. Anxiety starts taking over your brain. Or you wake up one day and realize the life you thought you were building is not the life you actually have. A lot of the people I work with are functioning just fine on the outside while internally thinking, What the hell just happened to my life? They're replaying conversations, second-guessing themselves, trying to make sense of someone else's behavior, wondering whether they missed something, and feeling completely exhausted by their own thoughts. You don't need to show up with a diagnosis or a beautifully organized explanation of what's wrong. You can bring the messy version. I'm not a therapist who is going to sit silently for 50 minutes, nod occasionally, and then ask how that made you feel. I am engaged. I ask questions. I notice patterns. I will tell you what I'm seeing. I will validate what deserves validation, and I will also challenge you when I think you are getting stuck, avoiding something important, or being much harder on yourself than the situation actually calls for. There is room here for grief, anger, confusion, ugly truths, dark humor, bad decisions, overthinking, faith, and the occasional sentence that starts with, "I know this sounds crazy, but..." I work especially well with adults dealing with anxiety, grief, heartbreak, betrayal, complicated relationships, and major life changes. What happened matters. But I do not want the worst thing that happened to you to become the organizing principle for the rest of your life.

I use a variety of methods that are personally tailored approach for each client and situation. As a therapist, I am empathetic, supportive , and straightforward. I consider myself an open minded therapist who uses learned skills, experience, and sense of humor to offer logical and realistic approach to counseling. In addition to therapy, I offer evaluations and documentation for Emotional Support Animals (ESA) when clinically appropriate. ESA letters can help individuals with mental health challenges access the support they need from their animal companions. ESA letters are issued after a thorough assessment to ensure they meet ethical and legal standards. If you’re considering an ESA, feel free to discuss this during your session. I also understand that mental health symptoms can impact school, testing, or work performance. I provide support and documentation for accommodations (such as extended test time, modified environments, or school/workplace supports) to help clients demonstrate their true ability, when clinically appropriate and not after a single session.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in Florida and I obtained my Master’s degree from the University of West Florida. Throughout my career, I have worked with both youth and adults who are confronting a range of emotional challenges and distressing experiences. These difficult symptoms and situations often hinder individuals' ability to function effectively and derive enjoyment from life, making it imperative to seek appropriate support and guidance.

Licensed Psychotherapist | Culturally Sensitive | Trauma-Informed Welcome, I’m Nubia. Healing doesn’t happen overnight — but with the right support, it absolutely happens. Whether you're working through trauma, betrayal, anxiety, divorce, or simply feeling emotionally stuck, I’m here to help you move forward with clarity, strength, and care. I work with adults navigating life transitions, stress, or emotional wounds that have been hard to process alone. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or unsure of how to break free from patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we explore the deeper “why” behind those patterns — and create space for healing, resilience, and growth. My approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). These methods help us understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected — and how to gently shift the beliefs that keep you feeling stuck. But beyond technique, I lead with authenticity, compassion, and cultural awareness. In our sessions, you’ll find a space that feels safe, honest, and judgment-free. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’re returning to it, you are welcome exactly as you are. Clients often tell me they feel more centered, more empowered, and more hopeful after working together. I offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and virtual sessions, because healing should fit into real life. If you’re ready to begin your journey — whether you’re clear on your goals or still figuring them out — I’d be honored to support you. Let’s take the first step, together. Warmly, Nubia Anacius , MS,NBCC,LPC Licensed Psychotherapist

Hola! I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than a decade of experience in mental health, behavioral health, and non-profit work. I grew up in Los Angeles, completed my Master of Social Work at Fordham University in the Bronx, and now call Ocala, Florida home. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families across the lifespan, each with their own unique stories and needs. My work is guided by an integrative approach, meaning I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods to find what fits best for you. I’ve worked extensively with family systems, intergenerational trauma, parents and children facing behavioral challenges, neurodivergent individuals, women navigating life transitions, and people seeking to better understand themselves and the patterns that may be causing distress, mood difficulties, anxiety, or OCD. Some of my specialties include helping young adults transition into life after high school, supporting parents and partners as they navigate family life, and walking alongside Latina women who are balancing relationships, cultural expectations, independence, and self-care. I believe deeply that every person’s journey is unique. That’s why I focus on meeting you exactly where you are, empowering you to uncover strengths, solutions, and coping strategies that work for your life. While I am trained in CBT and DBT, I see these as tools within a broader, collaborative process. At the heart of my practice is client-centered care — because there is no single path to healing that fits everyone. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that honors your voice, builds on your resilience, and empowers you to move toward the life you want to live.

My primary goal as a clinician is to provide a safe space where everyone feels welcome, safe, and comfortable facing the growth opportunities they are seeking support to work through. Yes, you read that correctly, not problems or stressors, but growth opportunities, The goal is not to simply talk about your discomforts, but to help you see them differently, and develop strategies and skills that allow you to reclaim your power. You are the author and actor in the story of your life and my role is to help you claim or reclaim your power at your pace with an extra push here and there as needed. (smile, I got you).

Hello, I’m Dennis Alvarez, PsyD. I believe counseling should both encourage and thoughtfully challenge individuals to move toward their fullest potential by addressing the mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of their lives. I hold a Doctorate in Psychology and a post-graduate diploma in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am a licensed psychotherapist with experience across hospital, treatment, and private-practice settings. Throughout my career, I have provided individual and group therapy as well as comprehensive psychological assessments to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relational distress, substance-use concerns, and life-transition stressors. My clinical background includes work in hospitals, substance-use treatment programs, and outpatient private practice, where I integrate evidence-based approaches within a holistic, person-centered framework. I am also the author of When Heaven Was Silent: Integrating Psychology and Theology in the Garden of Gethsemane, which explores the experience of mental suffering through both clinical and historical perspectives. My doctoral dissertation focused on trauma and psychological adaptation, further shaping my approach to helping individuals understand their internal patterns, build resilience, and restore a sense of meaning and purpose. In my work with clients, I emphasize helping people understand how and why certain thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns develop, particularly in the context of anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance-use histories. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment while also encouraging insight, personal responsibility, and growth. My goal is to help you move toward a more grounded, authentic, and meaningful life.

Hello! I work with people who want help finding ways to live a more fulfilling life. As a therapist, I help people recognize their strengths as we work together to overcome difficulties. Almost all of us struggle with many of the same questions. "Am I good enough?" "Why do I feel like I don't matter?" "Will I ever be truly happy when I seem to make the same choices over and over again?" Do you want to manage anxiety? Do you feel depressed? Have you experienced a trauma? Do you find yourself unable to finish projects or find your car keys? Are the kids struggling? Whatever is going wrong, a safe place to talk, knowing your trust will never be compromised, is a wonderful gift you can give yourself. During the first visit, we'll talk about what you want to see happen. Together will come up with a plan. Lasting change is possible. You can create a happy and fulfilling life.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in painful patterns that make it hard to manage daily life, relationships, or your sense of self-worth. Sometimes these struggles are tied to current life challenges, and other times they are connected to earlier experiences that continue to affect how you feel, relate to others, and respond to stress today. Therapy can help you better understand what is going on and begin making meaningful changes. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking licensed psychotherapist and the author of Healing Childhood Trauma. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, and relationship difficulties. I help clients explore the patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building healthier ways of coping, relating, and moving through daily life. My approach is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. I work with respect for your pace and aim to create a space where you can better understand your experiences, work through emotional pain, and build more secure patterns in your life and relationships. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I support you through this process with the goal of helping you feel more secure, more confident, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges. When you feel ready to begin, I invite you to schedule our first session today.
