About me

My name is Thasia (Thay-Zhuh) Allen, and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 13 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families. I’m glad you’ve taken this step toward support. I check messages daily and respond as soon as possible. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting your journey toward healing and growth. As a licensed therapist in Florida with over a decade of experience, I provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care for individuals facing depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and LGBTQ+ concerns. I believe healing is a personal journey and offer a safe, affirming space to explore challenges, build resilience, and foster growth. Using evidence-based approaches, I work collaboratively with clients to identify strengths, develop coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. My goal is to support you with empathy, respect, and practical guidance every step of the way.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your initial intake session, we'll focus on getting to know one another and building a strong therapeutic relationship. Together, we'll explore the life experiences, challenges, and concerns that have brought you to therapy. My goal is to create a relaxed, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace. The more I understand your background, strengths, and goals, the better we can work together to develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your growth and well-being. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to identify meaningful goals and create lasting change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I help individuals and families navigate relationship and family conflicts, grief, parenting challenges, anger, self-esteem, career stress, ADHD, bipolar disorder, social anxiety, loneliness, and life transitions. Together, we build healthier communication, coping skills, self-compassion, resilience, and stronger connections to support lasting emotional well. I provide active, listening, validation, and a practical and genuine perspective toward aiding in making the changes that you want to see in yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful, lasting change. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, or difficulties managing emotions. Some clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed or stuck, while others simply want a safe space to process life's challenges and improve their overall well-being. Whether you're seeking support for the first time or returning to therapy after previous experiences, I welcome individuals who are open to self-exploration and personal growth. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to develop practical skills, gain new perspectives, and move toward the life you want to create.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe that therapy is most effective when it is tailored to each individual's unique needs, experiences, and goals. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I integrate evidence-based treatment methods to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical skills for lasting change. Our work together will focus on identifying patterns that may be contributing to current challenges, building healthy coping strategies, strengthening resilience, and creating realistic goals. I encourage open, collaborative conversations where you can explore difficult experiences in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment while feeling empowered to make meaningful changes in your life. Throughout the therapeutic process, I strive to provide both compassionate support and honest feedback to help you gain insight, build confidence, and achieve lasting personal growth.
