I am a LMHC virtual therapist who works evenings and weekends till midnight to help you with either short-term solution-focused support and/or deeper psychoanalytical work, including shadow work, to help you understand the patterns that keep repeating in your life- and how to break them for good. Because many adults need support outside traditional hours, I offer evening and weekend sessions with no long-term commitment, so the sessions fit your lifestyle and meet your immediate needs. If you are going through major turning points- considering divorce, managing elder care decisions, coping with estrangement, or trying to understand the dynamics of a difficult partner or parent. I help you make sense of what's happening, strengthen your internal clarity, and take grounding steps forward.

Hi, I’m Mercedes Harrison, and I believe therapy should be more than just talking about what’s going on—it should help you understand yourself, recognize patterns, and feel more equipped to move forward.
Do you ever leave therapy feeling like you talked a lot, but still aren’t fully sure what you’re working on or how to actually move forward? Many people know they’re struggling but have a hard time putting words to their emotions, recognizing patterns, or understanding why they keep getting stuck in the same cycles.
In my work with clients, I believe therapy can feel more meaningful when you’re able to actually see, organize, and make sense of what you’re experiencing. My goal is for you to leave each session with tangible tools, practical insight, and personalized resources that you can continue using and reflecting on outside of therapy.
I want therapy to be a space where you not only feel heard, but also gain clarity, understanding, and tools that support you in creating meaningful change.

I have a master’s degree in counseling, and I enjoy working with individuals that need support to overcome daily struggles and life changes. I have experience working with mood disorders including anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
I think it is important for a therapist to be able to implement multiple approaches to the therapy process in order to best serve a client. I do predominantly utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches, but I may modify the approach to best meet your needs and goals. My main focus is helping you make progress and meet your identified goals.
I initially was drawn to being a therapist because I wanted to help others meet life's challenges and understand that sometimes we need a partner/support on that journey. I have worked with many different populations over the course of my career, including children, teens, adults, and seniors. Additionally, I have experience working in many different settings, including community mental health, inpatient mental health units, juvenile justice, nursing homes, and adult corrections. I believe these varied experiences and populations have helped to make me a well-rounded therapist.
Therapy should feel safe, supportive, and empowering through growth. My journey has taken me through community work, addictions treatment, psychiatric inpatient care, dialysis support, residential treatment with adolescents on the Autism spectrum, and private practice. These experiences allow me to understand people deeply—mind, body, family, and environment—and to tailor therapy in a way that honors your whole story. I bring a blend of clinical expertise, creativity, and cultural awareness into every session.

My primary modality is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy), based on the Adaptive Information Processing model. Neuroscience and studies on Neuroplasticity are baring out that the mind can heal itself. Old pathways and negative memories can be updated with new adaptive information. EMDR uses eye movements and other forms of physical tapping and Bi-Lateral stimulation to help the brain process old stuck memories and trauma. Not just for Big Trauma's like car accidents, it can help with many issues from the past, present and perceived future concerns including PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety and more specific issues such as religious abuse, shame, guilt and pain management.

I've worked in inpatient psychiatry, done crisis intervention, and spent years in outpatient therapy, so I've sat with people through everything from everyday stress to full-blown crises, including LGBTQ individuals navigating identity, acceptance, and the unique challenges that can come with it. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida. I'm experienced working with individuals, groups, couples and families. When working with an individual, couple or family I assess and addresses the entire family history, the sum of its parts, and not simply the individuals that comprise it. The distress or problem that originated may not solely be within an individual but a natural reaction to a family dynamic that creates the distress. By using Family Systems Theory I'm able to help the Client have a deeper awareness of their personal conflicts, how to resolve them, and live a more fulfilling life without addictions.

I specialize in working with women experiencing low sexual desire, desire differences in relationships, intimacy concerns, sexual shame, and feeling disconnected from their bodies or sexual selves.

Dealing with the struggles I have had throughout my life has helped me work with people and develop creative and effective coping mechanisms for their specific issues. I have now lived and worked in several states with varying cultures and have benefited from all of these experiences. I’m Shellene Hattersley, LCSW, and for over 13 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping adults and veterans navigate the challenges life often throws their way. Throughout my career, I’ve seen how resilient people are, even when they don’t always feel it themselves. My specialty areas include trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions, and my approach is rooted in compassion, understanding, and a belief in your inherent strengths.
I truly believe that healing isn’t a one-size-fits-all process, which is why I take the time to tailor our work together to fit your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re working through past trauma, feeling stuck in life’s transitions, or looking to gain clarity and confidence, we’ll go at your pace and build on your existing resilience. In our time together, my goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to make lasting, positive changes.
I’m honored to walk alongside you on your journey of healing and growth, and I’m here to help you uncover the strength and clarity needed to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
