I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and major life changes. My goal is to provide a safe, steady space where you can explore what’s holding you back, strengthen your resilience, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want. My work is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, a practical, skills‑based approach that helps you build emotional regulation, strengthen distress tolerance, and develop more effective ways to navigate relationships and daily challenges. In our sessions, we balance acceptance with growth—honoring where you are while actively working toward where you want to be. I provide a steady, non‑judgmental space where you can explore your patterns, learn new tools, and practice real‑world strategies that support lasting transformation. Hi there, I primarily work in substance use recovery (abstinence and harm reduction) and trauma recovery. I also have specialized training in treating anxiety, depression, and sleep issues/insomnia. My treatment orientation is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts, however the foundation of my early training was Psychodynamic. I have been trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, STAIR (Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation), and Seeking Safety for trauma treatment. When treating anxiety, I take a CBT, or exposure approach with skill-building. For depression I utilize CBT concepts, or behavioral activation with skill-building. For sleep issues, I work with the CBT for insomnia treatment model. These are just a few examples of treatment approaches I utilize. I am relational focused, which to me means finding a plan that works best for you, practicing cultural humility and not trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. I look forward to working with you.

Hello, I’m Kim Paylor, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), school counselor, and clinical supervisor with a diverse background in mental health, education, case management, and student support services. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, veterans, families, and young adults across school, community, and clinical settings. My experience includes working as a school counselor, special education resource teacher, therapist in private practice and telehealth settings, and clinical case manager within the HUD-VASH program supporting veterans. Prior to entering the mental health field, I also spent many years working in customer service, payroll, human resources, and university settings, which has given me a strong understanding of life stressors, workplace challenges, relationships, parenting, and major life transitions. I bring warmth, compassion, authenticity, and real-world understanding into the counseling relationship. I specialize in anxiety, emotional wellness, trauma-informed care, self-esteem, stress management, and helping clients develop healthier coping skills, emotional resilience, and greater confidence in themselves and their lives. My strongest area of focus is supporting adolescents, teens, and adults between the ages of 11–45. My therapeutic style is highly person-centered, supportive, and collaborative. While I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care, I strive to create a counseling experience that feels approachable, practical, empowering, and genuinely supportive rather than overly clinical or judgmental. I believe therapy works best when clients feel truly heard, valued, and comfortable being themselves. I often incorporate guidance, emotional support, skill-building, and strengths-based strategies to help clients not only process challenges, but also build confidence, self-awareness, resilience, and practical tools they can apply in everyday life. Welcome to Dr. Mitchell’s Safe and Brave Space I began my career in social services in 1995, working with children, youth, and families often labeled as “at-risk”—many of whom were impacted by substance use, poverty, child abuse, and neglect. Over time, my commitment to equity and justice led me to the field of social work, where I continue to center the person-in-environment perspective and actively support antiracist policies, ideas, and actions. This work is grounded in an acknowledgment that we live and practice on the stolen lands of Indigenous peoples, and that much of the wealth and infrastructure of this nation was built through the unpaid labor and enduring suffering of enslaved Africans. I honor these histories and their ongoing impact as part of my commitment to justice, healing, and collective liberation. I am deeply committed to self-awareness and reflective practice, both personally and with those I serve. I walk alongside clients on a healing journey rooted in self-care, resilience, and transformation. I integrate narrative therapy and other evidence-informed approaches through the lens of intersectionality to remain fully person-centered. My practice pays particular attention to the impacts of trauma and race-based stress on one’s inner world. As appropriate, I incorporate Feminist Theory, Queer Theory, and Liberation Psychology to support healing that honors identity, lived experience, and systemic context. I welcome all who value peace, healing, and justice to join me in this space—to try, to grow, and to be.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master of Science in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling and a degree from UC Davis. I have worked in the mental health field since 2001, serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a variety of clinical settings, including residential treatment, substance use treatment, and domestic violence and sexual assault programs. I strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. My goal is to help people better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, overcome challenges, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. I believe in treating the whole person and value an integrative approach that considers emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual well-being. I support evidence-based practices while recognizing that each client's journey is unique. My work is informed by ongoing professional education and a commitment to remaining current with research and best practices. My own life experiences, including overcoming significant adversity and serious health challenges, have deepened my empathy and reinforced my belief that healing and growth are possible. These experiences allow me to connect with clients with authenticity, hope, and understanding. Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family, homeschooling my two children, teaching, reading, camping, swimming, and serving as a leader with the Civil Air Patrol and Scouting America.

Hello I'm Sonja — a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in California. My path to this work wasn't a straight line and I think that makes me a better clinician. I started with a career in corrections in Arkansas, where I learned early on how to connect with people in difficult circumstances without judgment. That experience shaped how I show up in the therapy room to this day. I transitioned into mental health as a psychiatric technician, working directly with all age groups across inpatient and community settings; providing direct care, facilitating group therapy, and delivering individual therapy during my internship and later as a registered clinician with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. By the time I became fully licensed, I had accumulated nearly a decade of real-world clinical experience across some of the most demanding settings in behavioral health..

As your therapist, my goal is to help you understand how the events of your life have shaped the way you move through the world and to use that understanding as a foundation for real, personal change. As a Marriage and Family Therapist and Art Therapist, I've worked alongside adolescents, adults, and families navigating the effects of violence and trauma, and I know that this work takes courage. Together, we'll identify your strengths and build coping tools that support genuine growth and healing. My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, meaning you set the pace and I meet you where you are.
