New to Grow
I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), working in private practice as a Psychotherapist. I live in Los Angeles, and work in-person or hybrid, with adults, teens, couples and the aging population. I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, work stress/dissatisfaction, career goals, sleep disorders, substance use, trauma (ptsd/complex/acute), obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD/OCPD), attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD). In addition I deal with grief, isolation, and breaking creative blocks.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In my first session we will discuss what brings you into therapy. I will also collect a brief history of your mental & physical health, as well as gain a better understanding of your goals for therapy. You will also have a chance to ask me questions, and how we can both collaborate as a team. You will have a chance to go home and think over whether or not you would like to book an additional session, and move forward in treatment. Or you can book further sessions. There is no commitment, I feel therapy should feel organic or be a holistic experience.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach to therapy is collaborative, creative and based in compassion. I take a holistic approach, and incorporate my training in mindfulness, yoga, reiki and intuitive healing, to meet my clients where they are at. I believe the mind, body and spirit are all inter-connected, and that our relational health with others, is as equally important as our relationship with ourselves.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best to serve clients who like to work in a creative and collaborative way with me, and looking for change. If a client is not motivated, then I will work on helping them understand what is keeping them from growth. If they are ready for change, then we will work as a team to find a holistic approach that is unique to them, in combination with my style which is also unique to me.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to alter and reframe negative thought patterns, and better understand where they stemmed from (childhood, trauma, life stressors, relationship patterns).
Mind-body approach
I am certified in Yoga, Mindfulness, Intuitive Healing and Reiki, which helps inform my psychotherapy skills.
Psychoanalytic
To get to underlying issues and patterns, I incorporate a psychoanalytical approach, and use guided visualization practices, to better access the subconscious. This also helps with creative, career and relationship blocks.
Somatic
With my yoga training, I work to understand where stress, anxiety and trauma may be residing in the body, and causing energetic blocks, chronic pain or disease. We try and identify it, so it can be released.
Trauma Informed Care
I am a surf & ocean trauma therapists for first responders, veterans and vulnerable youth. I lead group discussions on the impacts of trauma, and tools to overcome. Whether on the beach or in the therapy room, trauma informed therapy is very crucial for clients with chronic/complex trauma or acute. All of which I treat.
