Thank you for considering me as your therapist in your journey to improving your mental health!  Seeking treatment can be an extremely daunting task, especially within a culture where mental health may not be openly discussed.  This leaves individuals struggling alone with distressing mental health symptoms including anxiety, stress, fear, insecurities, isolation, depression, racing thoughts, poor self-image and many others.  With a lack of support or a safe environment to openly share these experiences, it can be extremely difficult and overwhelming to understand how to manage these symptoms in a healthy way.  This can lead to maladaptive coping skills including substance use, overworking, self-harm, suicidal ideations, hypersexuality, and other risky behaviors.  Even maladaptive coping skills are part of the brain's effort to protect us from the discomfort that comes with mental health symptoms. My goal is to assist empower clients to take control and manage these symptoms independently.  I assist clients with gaining insight about their difficulties and how they experience mental health symptoms in their lives.  I provide clients with psychoeducation to achieve this insight and then work toward developing concrete coping skills in an effort to manage the symptoms.  We will work together to identify short term and long term goals that the client hoping to achieve in therapy and I will ensure that we stay on track toward achieving those goals.  Through accomplishing these goals, clients are able to increase their emotional intelligence and resilience as they manage day to day stressors. I am structured in my approach and committed to seeing progress for my clients as they take on the challenge of self-improvement.  My clinical orientation is in trauma work.  I assist clients with understanding their trauma in their life and how it impacts them today.  I emphasize the unique cultural backgrounds of my clients and all the different traits of their identity to assist them with understanding themselves in a more complete way. In person services available for clients near Santa maria, Ca.  Telehealth services are available for clients throughout the state.  Feel free to reach out directly via phone call or text to discuss scheduling details or to ask any other relevant questions! Exhausted by the way you think about yourself? We are often (if not always) our own worst enemies. Whether this pattern has caused you problems with guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, addiction or you name it - the starting point is generally the same. When we embark on the project of therapy you will be asked to put your painful thoughts and feelings into words. As the process unfolds, the strength and fervor used to overthink and condemn yourself will become accessible to use productively in reaching your goals.

Also, empowering the clt to connect and use their strengths; support, spirituality or agnostic beliefs. One of my greatest passions in life is being a therapist. Drawing on decades of experience my approach blends warmth, insight, humor & a deep respect for the trust this work requires. Whether you’re burdened by daily stress or carrying the weight of deeper emotional pain, I can help you find your way through gently reconnecting with healing & clarity. Along the way you might find yourself feeling stuck—whether it’s anxiety, loneliness, depression or just a sense that something’s off. Life can be overwhelming-making it hard to find meaning or joy. This is the kind of thing we can work through together. I am an extensively trained psychotherapist licensed in California and Vermont. I earned my Masters degree from New York University and I have been practicing for more than two decades. I specialize in depression and anxiety, grief and loss, chronic illness & aging, identity and self-worth, lgbtq+ issues, relationships, veganism/Vystopia, as well as life transitions and the pursuit of purpose and meaning. I started out as a kid from Queens, NY who volunteered on the weekends working with individuals with autism while I was in high school. That propelled me into the world of social services. From there, I worked with individuals with severe psychiatric concerns, to families in need throughout NYC, the shelter system, students in higher education, residential group homes for system impacted adolescence and community mental health in the Southern California region. I believe we all have our stories from lived experiences that play a direct role in our daily struggles. This is why I utilize a psychodynamic & mindfulness approach that helps folks to understand what factors of their past feeds the stressors of their present and how to live more freely in the “now”.

Los Angeles, CA - Accepting clients in CA

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California and I have been practicing since 2001. I graduated from the School of Social Work at Columbia University in the City of New York and have experience working with children and families, adolescents, transitional youth, young adults, elder adults, men, women, LGBTQ+, and the justice-involved. In this day and age, so many of us are bombarded with the day-to-day and simply living blindly, meaninglessly. So many tend to suppress and ignore just to survive. If you are experiencing a crossroads presently and wish to get out of being stuck, if you want to improve your relationships with your loved ones, or if you just want to be able to process safely and receive genuine and practical feedback, you may want to consider scheduling a therapy session with me.

🌿 You’ve done the journaling. You’ve had therapy. You know your emotional patterns. Now you’re ready for something deeper—not just coping, but becoming. I’m Kelisha, and I help women who are already on the healing path move into their next level of self-trust, emotional integration, and personal power. My clients are often cisgendered WOMEN who: Are emotionally aware and want to go deeper Are moving through transitions and desire clarity, softness, and alignment Have done inner work but now want to live it—fully and embodied Are ready to release survival mode and step into presence, joy, and truth In our sessions, we blend somatic work, narrative therapy, spiritual reflection, and psychodynamic insight. I support you in connecting to your body, softening your inner critic, and uncovering the aligned version of yourself that’s already waiting to be lived. This is not a space for emotional initiation. If you are just beginning to explore your emotions, or seeking basic coping strategies, I may not be the best fit. But if you’re already doing the work and feel ready for grounded, soul-deep transformation—I’d be honored to walk beside you. 🌹❤️

I am a dedicated and highly motivated client-focused Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. Therapy does not have to be dry, boring, or scary and it's okay to have fun in therapy. We all share in the HUMAN EXPERIENCE! So I may not have the same experiences as you, however, I know what feels like to make mistakes, experience hurt, love, loss, pain, and fear. I also know what it’s like to rebuild myself and have success again. Everyone experiences a range of thoughts, feelings, emotions, and situations that shape and mold us. Therefore, working with people, in their time of need motivates me to assist them in finding balance in their lives.

Visalia, CA - Accepting clients in CA

As a therapist specializing in women in their 20s and 30s, I've observed a pervasive challenge: the relentless pressure to achieve perfection, excel in every area, and meet the expectations of others. This often culminates in feelings of exhaustion, self-sabotage, and burnout—issues that deserve far more attention than they typically receive. Navigating significant life transitions—whether it’s college, graduate school, building relationships, or starting a family—can leave many feeling adrift and overwhelmed. If you’re grappling with self-doubt, please know you’re not alone in this struggle. I invite you to join me in a conversation where we can explore these feelings together and work towards finding clarity and balance. In addition to my work with women in early adulthood, I’ll also be opening space to work with teen clients starting this summer. A waitlist is now open for sessions beginning in July.
