I believe that each one of us has the answers to our problems inside of us. However, sometimes we need someone on our journey to help us unlock those answers by asking the right questions---things you may not have considered, presenting proven strategies, and psychoeducation. Although, you will make strides with the energy and effort you give, the number one predictor that one will improve is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I hope to provide a place of warmth, compassion, and acceptance in which you feel empowered and free to approach any concerns. I am here to help you along on your journey.

My name is Romy Rodriguez and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have worked with various populations with mental health and substance abuse struggles. I also provided Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to adolescents and their families who were living in homeless shelters and were in the court system. I have also worked with women with Post-Partum depression and struggling with substance abuse. Two of the modalities that I work with are Brainspotting and EMDR. Brainspotting focuses on identifying specific eye positions (“brainspots”) that connect to unprocessed material in the brain. By maintaining focused attention on these spots, clients are able to access, process, and resolve underlying issues at a deeper neurological level. This approach is especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and emotional regulation, allowing for profound healing in a safe, attuned, and client-centered space. I also specialize in EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help clients process and heal from trauma, distressing memories, and negative beliefs. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I guide clients through structured phases that use bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements) to help the brain reprocess stuck or overwhelming experiences. This allows painful memories to lose their intensity and supports the development of more adaptive, empowering beliefs. EMDR is highly effective for trauma, anxiety, and other emotional challenges, offering deep and lasting relief in a safe, supportive, and client-centered environment.

My goal is to help you increase self-awareness, work through internal conflicts, and develop practical solutions that empower you to become the person you aspire to be. I strive to provide a supportive, attentive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. Together, we can work toward creating a healthier, more balanced, and fulfilling life. I am licensed to practice in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Utah.
Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or like it is hard to find balance in your life? Maybe you are starting a new job, working through relationship challenges, or adjusting to new expectations. If you are an athlete, you may also be dealing with pressure from coaches or teammates or feeling anxious about your performance. I have experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, attachment-related concerns, and other life challenges. My goal is to create a safe and collaborative space where you feel heard and supported. Together, we can explore difficult emotions, relationships, and past experiences while helping you better understand yourself and build on your strengths.
