LPC, 5 years of experience
Hello all, I am a Texas native. I went to college at the University of Texas at Tyler and received my Master's of Science degree in Clinical Psychology, with a sub-specialization in neuropsychology. As a professional counselor, I like to combine my practical experience of working with patients just like you with my knowledge and background of the brain and mental health. I completed my internship training and have vocational experience working in a dementia and aging clinic, in a residential childcare facility at, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and in a clinic working with teens and adults with a variety of mental and behavioral health concerns. I am grateful for the breadth of these clinical experiences, as I feel confident working with a wide array of clients--both children and adults-- and with a variety of psychological needs.
A first session will look like getting to know you and your unique needs. We will collaborate to create a plan together to meet your mental health goals. My approach is always collaborative, so we will work together to find the style of therapy that best fits your personal needs. There is no one-size-fits-all in mental health! Throughout the course of my professional experience, I have learned that the best way to help someone is to learn about them in an effort to understand how each individual person thinks, behaves, and acts in their own unique environment. As a therapist, I enjoy exploring thinking patterns and how those patterns influence our behaviors. Learning what drives some of our behaviors is often the first step in changing them. I also value teaching ways to find more enjoyment, satisfaction, and peace in everyday living. People typically take better care of their physical needs than they do their psychological needs and I think that should change! If you are reading this, I suspect you believe that, too. You deserve to feel better, to function more wholly, and to find fulfillment in life, even if you don't believe that now.

Laura has helped so much with my journey over the past few years! She is super knowledgeable about everything even physical issues. It’s like talking to a best friend but better because she can give me the tools I need to work on my issues. She is 100% authentic and comforting. She has helped me with severe rapid cycling bipolar 2 & psychosis, ADHD, anxiety, co-dependency/attachment styles and trauma. Without her I would not have found out I’m treatment resistant; I don’t have episodes anymore!
