In my online practice, which is focused on trauma and grief, I only work with older adults (over 50 years old). Dr Yuko is a California and Wyoming-licensed psychologist who has been working in mental health since 1998. Dr. Yuko's psychodynamic psychotherapy aims to help people become aware of themselves and gain psychological strength (self-confidence) to discover their future and the meaning of their lives. I'm also an experienced child psychologist for very young children (aged from 2), but I cannot either test them or do play therapy online. But I can advise parents who have young children with Autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, FAS, Genetic disorders, Behavior problems, etc.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I do "attachment theory-based psychodynamic psychotherapy." Accordingly, a "good therapeutic match" and "client's readiness for deep psychodynamic psychotherapy" are critical. And I only work for Trauma and Grief for middle-aged or older adults at Grow Therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Trauma and grief: psychodynamic psychotherapy. Psychological Testing. Neuropsychology. Geriatric psychology Reminiscent psychotherapy Parenting (for parents who have children under 6 years old)

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

In my online practice, I only work with older adults (over 50 years old) with Trauma and Grief. I studied "Western Psychology in the US." As an immigrant, I'm clearly aware of how cultural differences affect psychotherapy outcomes. Accordingly, I know my psychodynamic psychotherapy works best for people with Western cultural backgrounds. I'm cautious when I get requests to work with people from other cultural backgrounds since I don't want to overextend myself.
