About me

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with adults at an inflection point - when something has changed, something isn’t working anymore, or they know they’re ready for something different but aren’t yet sure what comes next. For 15 years, I’ve maintained an active clinical practice alongside leadership roles in community behavioral health. My approach combines thoughtful exploration with practical direction, helping clients understand patterns, gain clarity, and make meaningful changes without therapy feeling aimless or endless.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I hope you leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and a little clearer about what you’re experiencing and what you’d like to be different. Because the first session includes assessment and getting to know your history and current concerns, we may not have everything figured out yet - but you should have a sense that we’ve begun making sense of what’s happening and have a direction for where we can go next. Most importantly, I want you to feel that our work can be purposeful, collaborative, and useful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my work apart is the balance between insight and movement. I help clients look beneath the immediate problem to understand the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping them stuck - and then we use that understanding to determine what needs to change. I’m thoughtful and direct, and I don’t believe therapy should be a place where you simply talk about the same problems week after week. At the same time, I don’t rush people toward solutions before we understand what’s actually happening. My role is to ask the questions that help you see things differently, identify what matters most, and develop practical ways to move forward. I’m especially effective with adults who are carrying a great deal, have spent years managing or pushing through, and have reached a place where their usual way of coping no longer feels sustainable. I draw from approaches including Motivational Interviewing, cognitive and behavioral strategies, and other evidence-based methods depending on what you need. The goal is therapy that feels purposeful and grounded—where insight leads somewhere and change is thoughtful rather than forced.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who have reached a point where something needs to change - even if they aren’t yet sure what that change should look like. You may be navigating a relationship or career transition, grief, burnout, changing family roles, anxiety, or simply realizing that the way you’ve been coping or moving through life isn’t working as well as it once did. Many of the people I work with are accustomed to managing a lot, taking care of others, pushing through difficult situations, or appearing capable even when they feel overwhelmed or uncertain internally. I’m a strong fit if you’re willing to look honestly at your patterns, understand what may be keeping you stuck, and consider doing something differently. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want or how to get there. We can figure that out together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies for responding differently.

Strength-Based

My work is grounded in a strengths-based approach. Along with understanding what is difficult or getting in your way, we identify the strengths, resilience, resources, and capabilities you already bring with you and build from there.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use solution-focused strategies to help translate insight into action. Once we understand what is happening and what matters most to you, we identify useful next steps, existing strengths, and small changes that can begin moving you toward what you want.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe therapy works best as a collaborative relationship. I bring clinical knowledge and perspective, while you remain the expert on your own experience. I aim to create enough safety and trust for you to speak honestly, question old assumptions, and explore things you may not have fully understood before.

Trauma Informed Care

I approach my work through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing how past and present experiences can shape the way you think, feel, relate, and respond today. We move at your pace, with attention to safety, stability, choice, and empowerment.
