(he/him)
Hello! I am an LCSW with over 10 years of mental health experience in a variety of settings and levels of care. I am a natural and empathetic listener, and am able to deeply connect with and understand others. I hold space with reverence and respect for your trust and bravery in showing up, and respond with genuine understanding, intelligence, insight, acceptance, and compassion. I seek to empower clients to recognize and question patterns within their own lives, and to use skills and different perspectives to create lasting change where desired.
In a first session, I will let you know what you can expect from me by setting an accepting and welcoming tone, and assuring you that I deeply value all forms of feedback. I will want to get to know a bit about what is bringing you to therapy now, and what you are noticing about yourself. I will want to know how this impacts your life and what your life would look like without whatever problems you are experiencing. I will work collaboratively with you to help you clarify goals for yourself, and work with you to figure out how we might go about helping you reach those goals.
My intelligence, natural abilities, and broad background position me to see the big picture as well as the micro scale of issues and experiences. My gentleness, empathy, and ability to understand and relate to others make me approachable and helpful. My ability to recognize the influence of larger systems and identities, both singularly and in their intersections, helps with the insight necessary to contextualize experiences and deepen understanding and awareness.
I am extremely capable of working with all people experiencing anxiety, depression, the effects of trauma, and other mental health experiences, as well as simply the challenges of walking through life. I can help with symptom management and understanding, and my goal is to empower you to learn to recognize patterns and manage these experiences on your own. I can also help with understanding and navigating challenges and transitions in life. Additionally, as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am especially passionate about providing high quality care to members of our marginalized yet resilient community.

I believe that true healing and growth takes place within a secure relationship. I strive to form secure attachments with clients to enhance and provide space for such growth and healing.
I am trained in Brainspotting which is an incredibly powerful treatment intervention for trauma as well as any 'sticky' thoughts and patterns which hold us back.
I help people understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as how to create change within that relationship.
I care deeply for people and treat others with compassion and empathy.
To me, DBT is a philosophical orientation as well as a set of skills to learn and practice.
