Welcome! My name is Janae and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. I received my Masters in Social Work from the Univerity of Southern California and have been in practice for 5 years. I am trained in TF-CBT and EMDR and work primarily with youth and young adults who have experienced trauma.

First session
In our first session, we will begin with brief introductions, and then focus on what it is that brought you to seek therapy. We will talk about your goals, expectations, and the indicators that therapy is working.
Strengths
I believe that as people we are highly adaptive, that our challenges and problems make sense based on our experiences, and that many of our adult problems start as childhood or younger solutions to keep us safe and protected. My approach is highly compassionate, affirming, and non-pathologizing.
Ideal clients
I specialize in treating complex trauma and continuous traumatic stress, with an emphasis on attachment trauma. Many of the clients I work with have experienced abuse, neglect, or significant dysfunction in their upbringings. I have worked extensively with system-impacted youth and young adults and formerly incarcerated youth. I work well with people who find themselves ready to do the deep work to heal from complex trauma.
Treatment methods
EMDR
I utilize EMDR with youth and adult clients to address and process through core beliefs that impact their daily lives and can cause suffering.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I utilize TF-CBT to support in teaching regulation skills, and I use DBT tidentify and learn more adaptive thinking in order to develop more adaptive belief systems.
Strength-Based
We will utilize your many existing strengths and resources to support you in achieving your treatment goals.
