About me

I am a caring and empathetic therapist with thirty years of experience working in county mental health and have worked in five jails. I love treating depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, jealousy, grief and loss, clients with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, adjustment disorders, recent life transitions, elderly clients, addictions, PTSD, history of emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse or neglect, anger management issues, schizoaffective disorder, people experiencing conflict in their relationships with spouses or others. I believe the most important aspect of therapy is gaining trust and rapport. It is the relationship between the therapist and client that heals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In my first session I do an assessment to find out what your needs are in therapy and what you want to work on and ultimately gain out of therapy. I will ask questions about your past and present and future goals. I will ask about your family, addictions, domestic violence and your overall level of functioning. I want to gain rapport and trust to begin building the therapeutic relationship.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I gain trust and rapport with others very quickly. I enjoy being a therapist and love having clients. I have thirty years of experience working in the field of psychology. Most of my experience, 22 years was working with adults in a county mental health setting. I have also worked in five different jails as a therapist. My client usually really like my therapy and form a positive relationship with me. I am supportive and compassionate. I have clients who have contacted me ten years later saying that I had really helped them.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I best serve individuals who are ages 18 and above who are experiencing addictions. depression, anxiety, bipolor disorder, recent hospitalizations on inpatient unit, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, self esteems issues, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, life transitions, conflict with others, anger management issues. I treat LGBTQ clients, clients who have been incarcerated, clients having conflict with their families and spouses and clients in domestic violence situations.
