This approach helps clients identify unhelpful patterns, leverage existing strengths, and implement actionable strategies for real-world, lasting change.
I take a direct, no-nonsense approach, ideal for clients who are ready to take action immediately. Therapy starts in the very first session—you’ll leave with clarity, insight, and actionable steps toward personal growth, healing, and wholeness.

I have been involved in the industry since 2017, beginning with an internship at a school-based counseling program in Milwaukee. During this period, I developed skills in advocacy and adaptability to meet client needs. In 2023, feeling exhausted from frequent school transitions, I commenced my doctoral studies in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior (currently ongoing) and enrolled in an adult developmental course. I became deeply interested in the subject matter and decided to transition from school-based services to providing telehealth support for adults. While I continue to work with children, my primary focus has shifted toward adult clients. My preferred aspect of this role is the opportunity to serve clients across Wisconsin in the comfort of their homes.
My hobbies are playing and watching softball, watching BananaBall, reading, and crafting.

Hello, I'm Liz!
Thank you for taking time to read about me, and my therapy approach. I earned my Master Degree in Social work with an emphasis in Mental Health in 2018 and am credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Clients would best describe me as warm, kind, and reflective. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Treatment approaches that I find most beneficial are cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic, mindfulness, and family therapy modalities. I find using activities to help clients gain skills in mindfulness are beneficial. This can include creative projects that are thought provoking, sometimes artistic, and most importantly increase awareness of who you are before the world got its hands on you. I will tailor our time together and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs!
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take the step, let's get started in writing a healthy and new chapter in your life.
I look forward to working with you!
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with six years of experience in clinical therapy and substance abuse counseling. I specialize in supporting individuals through acceptance, personal growth, and reconnecting with their sense of purpose. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, creative , and rooted in evidence-based practices. As a neurodivergent-affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, I strive to create an inclusive, respectful space where all parts of you are welcome. I’m deeply committed to walking alongside you as you build lasting, meaningful change. I’m glad you’re here.
At our core, we’re all wired for love and connection. Life experiences—like trauma, loss, or unmet needs—can make it hard to live in that truth. The therapeutic relationship can serve as a vehicle to aid in reconnecting with yourself and explore safe connection to another. My approach is eclectic and focused on the present moment, drawing from mindfulness, self-compassion, IFS, and working with paradoxes in thought. Past clients have described my style as “compassionate, but not coddling.” I believe each person comes to therapy with their own innate wisdom, and I value collaboration and shared ownership in the healing process.

My name is Emma Peters. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. While in Arkansas I worked with adolescents with maladaptive sexual behaviors and co-ocurring disorders in an inpatient setting. Upon relocating to Illinois, I spent several years working in substance use treatment settings, including residential/inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programs. I've spent the last several years focusing on individual therapy. While in this space, I have developed a passion for working with young adults and supporting the unique challenges they face today.
This journey can feel a bit overwhelming at times. I believe in bringing authenticity, compassion, and even a bit of humor into the therapy space to support and empower you through life's most difficult moments.
I am a quirky and challenging therapist who graduated from Northwestern University with a Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2014. Life today is stressful and complicated. So many people are walking around pretending things are fine, not sharing what's really on their mind because they feel like no one will understand. That's a really tough place to be.
I approach therapy as a caring, thoughtful, solution-focused friend. At the first session people often say, "Oh my gosh, I don't know where to start. I am all over the place!" and my response is, "No worries! Just dump it all out here and I'll pick up the pieces. We'll make sense of it together". I can be very straightforward; I don’t blow smoke! We will figure out where you want to go and start chipping away at making it happen.
Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I work with individuals ages 3 and up. I specialize in reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. Life can become complicated when the strategies that once worked stop working. Whether you're navigating a recent ADHD or AuDHD diagnosis, struggling with burnout, anxiety, depression, or major life changes, it can feel like you're trying to solve a puzzle without all the pieces.
As someone who was diagnosed later in life, I understand both the relief and the disruption that can come from finally having an explanation for lifelong challenges. That experience has shaped my approach to therapy and deepened my appreciation for the resilience people develop while trying to navigate a world that wasn't designed with their needs in mind.
My work is grounded in the belief that every person has a unique nervous system, unique strengths, and unique challenges. Rather than treating a label, I focus on understanding you as a whole person. I draw from established therapy approaches, neuroscience, and our growing understanding of the connection between the brain and body. I also believe that therapy doesn't have to feel cold or clinical. Humor, relatable analogies, and practical tools are often part of our conversations.
I work primarily with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted from constantly trying to keep up. Many are navigating neurodivergence, life transitions, relationship challenges, or the loss of skills that can accompany chronic stress and burnout. I also provide an affirming space for clients in kink, polyamorous, and other consensual nontraditional relationships.
My goal is to help you better understand yourself, reduce overwhelm, build sustainable strategies, and create a life that feels more authentic and manageable. You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can work through it together, one step at a time.
