I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin with several years of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I specialize in helping people navigate a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship issues, self-esteem, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting individuals coping with grief, past abuse, and other difficult life events. In my practice, I primarily use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These methods help clients build practical skills to manage their emotions, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want to live. I also integrate mindfulness, self-compassion, and trauma-informed care into my work to support healing and long-term growth. I believe that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Each person brings their own strengths, values, and life experiences into the process. My role is to support you in identifying what matters most to you, understanding the barriers in your way, and developing the tools and confidence to move forward. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to make a change, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we can work toward creating a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and authentic.
In your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where we’ll focus on getting to know each other. I’ll ask about what brought you to therapy, your current challenges, and your goals for treatment. We’ll discuss your personal history, including any important background information that can help me understand your experience better. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions about how I work, what therapy looks like, and what you can expect moving forward. Together, we’ll begin building a foundation of trust and collaboration to guide your healing journey.
My greatest strengths as a provider include my deep empathy and ability to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel truly heard and valued. I am skilled at building strong therapeutic relationships based on trust and respect. I use evidence-based approaches flexibly and tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals. Additionally, I bring cultural humility and trauma-informed care into every session, ensuring clients feel understood and empowered. My collaborative style encourages clients to take an active role in their healing, fostering lasting growth and resilience.
I am best positioned to serve a diverse range of clients, including adolescents aged 13 and older, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and African American individuals. My clinical experience and commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care allow me to support these clients in a compassionate, affirming, and empowering way. Working with adolescents and teens is a meaningful part of my practice. I understand the unique challenges that young people face during this transitional stage, including identity exploration, academic pressures, social anxiety, family dynamics, and mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where teens can express themselves authentically, build healthy coping skills, and develop resilience. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, encouraging young clients to recognize their inherent worth and potential while navigating the complex emotions and experiences of adolescence. I am deeply committed to supporting clients who identify as LGBTQIA+. I recognize the distinct challenges this community faces, such as discrimination, minority stress, internalized stigma, and barriers to acceptance. My practice is a welcoming and affirming environment where clients can explore their identity, process past trauma or rejection, and build self-acceptance and empowerment. I use culturally sensitive, evidence-based approaches to help LGBTQIA+ clients manage anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and challenges related to coming out or gender identity. I strive to honor each client’s unique journey with respect and authenticity. As a therapist who values cultural humility and anti-racist practice, I am committed to serving African American clients with sensitivity to the historical and systemic challenges that impact mental health and well-being. I understand the importance of addressing cultural identity, experiences of racial trauma, and the effects of discrimination within the therapeutic process. My work with African American clients emphasizes empowerment, resilience, and healing through a trauma-informed lens. I create a space where clients feel seen, validated, and supported in their cultural identity and personal growth. In summary, I provide a supportive and skilled therapeutic environment for adolescents over 13, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and African American clients. I am dedicated to helping each person navigate their unique challenges, build coping skills, and move toward a m
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop psychological flexibility. Through mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and values-based action, clients learn to accept difficult emotions while committing to meaningful change. ACT is especially effective with anxiety, depression, and trauma, empowering clients to live more intentionally and authentically.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that impact emotions and behaviors. By teaching practical coping skills and restructuring thoughts, clients gain better emotional regulation and problem-solving abilities. CBT is effective for anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns in my clinical practice.
I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support clients processing traumatic experiences. This approach helps them understand trauma’s impact, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop healthy coping strategies. Through gradual exposure, relaxation techniques, and cognitive restructuring, clients build resilience, reduce trauma symptoms, and regain a sense of safety and control.
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients manage intense emotions, build distress tolerance, and improve interpersonal effectiveness. DBT’s structured approach—including mindfulness, emotion regulation, and coping skills—is especially effective for clients with mood disorders, trauma, or self-harming behaviors. It promotes balance, acceptance, and lasting behavioral change in daily life.
