Hello! My name is Laura Lininger, LCSW. I attended Indiana University and got my BA in Psychology and then moved on to Tulane University in NOLA for my Masters in Social Work. I have worked for many years doing child and adolescent therapy and then later added working with adults to the services I provide. I believe my child and adolescent therapy background has been a great foundation for working with adults who are dealing with childhood trauma or family of origin issues. As for treatment approaches, I use Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR. I also include a lot of mindfulness practice in my work with clients. I am proud to provide a safe environment for all races, genders, religions, and clients from the LGBTQ community.
I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. I am a husband, dad and grandfather. I have been a coach of several different sports and six years ago started playing golf. I enjoy constant and continue growth in the field of psychotherapy. I am currently working on a National Cognitive Behavior Therapy Certification with the Beck Institute and every Friday I attend a two hour psychotherapist workshop. Greetings! I look forward to working with you. Currently doing telehealth.
My journey in the human helping field start in 1989, working as counselor at an adolescent residential recovery program for nine years. I then worked six years with the school district and return to the counseling field. I treat a variety of mental health conditions and issues, including anxiety, depression, mood or emotional problems, anger, stress, life transitions, blended family problems, and alcohol and other drug addictions.
I have specialized in the field of addiction for over twenty-five years, addressing the underlying issues of trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, and feelings of being overwhelmed. My life experiences have been my best teacher and motivated me at a late age, to return to school to earn a master's degree in counseling psychology. As a therapist, I strive to be like the Red Willow and to grow in flexibility and wisdom.
Hi, I’m Candace — a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Community Counseling from Lakeland University and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from UW-Stevens Point.
I’m a straightforward, no-fluff therapist who believes the best work happens when you feel safe enough to be fully yourself. My clients often tell me I’m not a “typical” therapist — and they’re right. I’m progressive, direct, sometimes sarcastic, and always focused on creating a space where you don’t have to pretend.
I work well with people who want honesty, humor, and real conversations — whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, burnout, identity exploration, or just feeling stuck. I’m an animal lover (my dogs are basically coworkers), I have tattoos, and I’m not easily rattled. You won’t shock me, and you don’t have to filter yourself here.
If you’re looking for a therapist who keeps it real, creates a safe space, and isn’t afraid to challenge you when needed — with compassion and maybe a little dry humor — I might be a good fit.
