Greetings! Thank you for taking the time to read this & congratulations on your first step to finding a therapist who’s right for you!
My background is in trauma therapy, attachment focused, person-centered & cultural/relational model. Before I was a therapist I served in the military & love to work with women vets, LGTBQ+ veterans & folks in general & have a strong foundation in working with complex trauma & survivors of assault & intimate partner violence.
I operate from an inclusive & anti-racist lens & work as a practitioner of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) with kiddo clients & Internal Family Systems as well as Somatic Embodiment practices as a way of helping clients to integrate their system after trauma.
My dog & cat are usually in the room as I exclusively am offering telehealth at this time, so if that sounds like a good fit do reach out & we will schedule a free 15 minute conversation!
Taking the first step toward therapy can stir up a mix of emotions—hope, uncertainty, maybe even fear. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I approach therapy professionally, but I also bring my authentic self into the room—whether that’s sharing a laugh, expressing empathy, or responding naturally in the moment.

You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. I work with clients who want to improve the way they experience life. The desire for better relationships with themselves and with others, and to gain a sense of purpose and meaning. I’ve always been interested in what drives people and believe that we can usually discover what is best for ourselves if we slow down, take the time to think things through, talk about it with a person we trust, and express the feelings we have in healthy ways—even the negative ones we may try to avoid. I use a number of therapeutic modalities in my practice, which connect thoughts to feelings and feelings to thoughts, enabling my clients to change and grow in the positive direction that they might envision for themselves. I work with clients who have struggled with addiction, anger, anxiety, depression, relationship separation, internal conflict and conflict with others, grief and loss, and other transitions and adjustment issues. I have completed Gottman trainings, as well as Emotion-Focused Therapy, which offers a structured approach and an emotional map for couples or individuals to learn how successful couples make their relationships last and how to handle conflict in a way that prevents damage to the relationship and helps them feel better connected to their partner. I am also trained in EMDR, a therapy designed to help a person unlock their nervous system to recover from trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other problems that can take hold.

or just need to get back on track? Hello! My name is Erie, and I'd love to help you.
Social workers typically have an interesting life story and personal experiences with tragedy that tug at our heartstrings. I am no different. At times, I wonder "how is it that I have survived these mountains and valleys?" Despite personal tragedy, loss, and despair, influential people have served as beacons of hope throughout the years in my life.
Along with my re-creation of self through school, internships, and certifications, I have learned one basic human tenant that would be my guiding light through the most challenging of times: people need people. I realize that this sounds a bit rudimentary, but this is the cornerstone of social work and the secret to my success in beating the statistical odds that accompany a survivor of childhood abuse, drug addiction and alcoholism, military combat trauma, and the loss of a child.
So, the question stands: why am I here and what do I want? I simply want to pay it forward as many have done for me. I would have never expected to be where I am or doing what I'm doing. I personally believe that there is hope and light in the most desperate, dark places and recesses of the human soul. For that reason, I bet on the underdog, society's undeserving, and those with whom all other plans have failed.
I find that my reward and inner satisfaction comes with doing for others when all else has failed and all others have given up. For this reason, I will keep doing for others, because they are worth it.
