Hi, I'm Heather! I have been a licensed mental health specialist for a few years now, but I have been doing counseling in hospital and end of life setting for more than ten years. I spent my first career as a chaplain, where I enjoyed working with people from all and no religious background tap into their innate strength in times of crisis. I am committed to helping people with a background of religious trauma and am a committed ally in working with LGBTQIA+ clients. As a therapist I believe I can help you on your path of self discovery and growing in the strengths you already have. I am all about self care and believe that therapy can be an essential component of everyone's self care repertoire.
During our first session, we'll start by getting to know each other. I'll ask you about your background, current challenges, and what has brought you to therapy. This is a safe and open space where you can share your story, express your thoughts and feelings, and begin to explore what you hope to achieve through our work together. Our focus will be on understanding your unique needs, strengths, and goals. We'll discuss what has worked for you in the past and identify areas where you might need more support. I believe in a collaborative approach, so your input is crucial in shaping our sessions and the direction of your treatment. Together, we'll create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific situation. This plan will outline your goals, the therapeutic methods we use, and the steps we can take to help you reach your desired outcomes. We'll also discuss any questions or concerns you have about the therapy process, ensuring you feel comfortable and informed. Throughout our work together, I will encourage open dialogue and feedback. Your insights and experiences are valuable in making sure the therapy is effective and meaningful for you. Our partnership is based on mutual respect and a shared commitment to your growth and well-being. I look forward to supporting you on this transformative journey.
As a thoughtful therapist with a background in spiritual and existential issues, my greatest strength is my ability to guide clients through their inner landscapes with depth and compassion. I offer a unique blend of emotional support and existential insight, helping clients to explore not just their immediate concerns but also the deeper questions and values that shape their lives.

I believe the relationship between the therapist and the client is the safe space where a client can explore their areas of strength and opportunities for growth. My goal is to help you to find insight and truth that you already have but might struggle to access.
I enjoy teaching client CBT skills that they can use to challenge their thought patterns and gain better insight into where they are getting stuck.
I am trained in DBT and appreciate what it bring to helping clients find their center and practice greater coping skills during their day to day.
