New to Grow
With over 10 years of experience as an educator, school counselor, championship basketball coach, and Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring a unique and well-rounded approach to therapy. My background has allowed me to connect with individuals from all walks of life, especially adolescents and families navigating challenges both in and out of the classroom. As a mother and a Christian, I understand the importance of compassion, structure, faith, and resilience in everyday life. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and relatable environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow. My approach to therapy is intentional and results-driven. I am deeply committed to helping clients experience meaningful, lasting change. By the time clients complete services, they can expect to see growth in their mindset, emotional well-being, and overall life direction. I believe therapy should not only provide support—but also transformation. Whether you are facing life transitions, emotional struggles, or behavioral challenges, I am here to walk alongside you with guidance, accountability, and care as you move toward becoming your best self.
What to Expect in Your First Session (Intake) During your first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. This is called an intake session. I will ask questions about your background, current concerns, family history, and any past experiences that may be important to your care. This process helps me gather the information needed to create a plan that best supports your goals. You are always welcome to share at your own pace, and you can choose what feels comfortable to discuss. After the First Session Once the intake is complete, our sessions will become more interactive and tailored to you. I use a variety of approaches to help build trust and better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This may include activities such as games, creative exercises, or conversation-based techniques—especially when working with adolescents and young clients. These methods are designed to make therapy feel engaging, safe, and supportive while helping us build a strong therapeutic relationship and work toward your personal goals.
My approach to therapy is holistic and client-centered. I strive to create a collaborative space where clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely heard. I tailor each session to your unique needs, integrating evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. Using Motivational Interviewing, I help you explore your own motivations for change, resolve ambivalence, and build confidence in your ability to move forward. Whether you're managing stress, working through trauma, or seeking personal growth, I walk alongside you—empowering you to overcome challenges and reach your goals.
I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults who are navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, family conflict. I support clients dealing with anxiety, self esteem issues, and behavioral concerns by providing a safe, relatable, and structured space for growth. I also believe in partnering with caregivers to offer practical tools and consistent support, helping families build stronger communication and lasting change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I help clients identify the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behavior in their specific situation. I guide them to challenge their negative thoughts with evidence in their situation. Then we work together on build coping skills to change their behavior. This does involves homework in between session on the client behalf.
Motivational Interviewing
Along with using Cognitive Behavioral approach, I believe in collaborating with client in supporting the change they would like to see in their life and helping them to take action in reaching their goal.
