I am a Clinical Psychologist with several years of experience in helping clients set and meet goals to make important changes in their lives. Reaching out for help shows strength and resilience, and my goal is to work with you as a partner in your healing to make sure those qualities help you move forward. Whether you are struggling with making sense of the past, worries about the future, or feeling settled in your current life, I will work with you to set concrete goals, identify barriers, and create meaning and purpose in your life. I have worked in a variety of settings, and can help you learn skills to process challenging life experiences, identify and change negative thinking, and manage intense emotions.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session can be the toughest one, so I work to create a welcoming and warm environment where you can share as much or as little of your story as you feel ready for. We will work together to establish your goals for therapy and a plan to meet those goals. As therapy is a process, I expect to continue building trust and possibly changing those goals throughout our time working together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I work hard to get to know each individual client I work with. This helps me balance when to hold back and when to push and challenge someone. I am creative and individualized in my approach, working to flexibly meet your needs and goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have extensive training in working with those with a history of trauma, and related mental health concerns including PTSD, anxiety, and depression. However, I also feel well suited to working with those without a history of trauma. I work best with those who are ready to make changes in their life, and want to be actively involved in that process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is the primary treatment approach I've used for the past several years, and many other therapies are versions of CBT. We will use CBT to help you set meaningful goals for change in your life, examine how thoughts and behaviors are getting in the way of meeting those goals, and learn new skills to overcome unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy when your goals are to more closely connect with your values. This is a therapy that also helps with being more mindful and present to what is important to you, as you learn to quiet your mind.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT is a therapy specifically designed for those who have experienced trauma and are looking to process that experience. In CPT, we will identify how you are thinking about what happened in your life, to see if there are any thoughts that are getting in the way of moving forward.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

Prolonged Exposure Therapy is a therapy specifically designed to help with processing trauma. In this therapy, we will work together to talk about the specific details of that trauma. We will also identify things you may avoid in daily life due to trauma, and set specific goals to work through that avoidance.

Integrative

I have extensive training in many evidence-based therapies. At times, we may decide that a specific combination of those therapies is the best treatment plan to meet your goals. When we decide to do a combination of approaches, this is considered Integrative therapy.
