Supporting those that are willing to face their fears and connect the dots over various life experiences, provides for great therapeutic work to be done for any client!

My work is directed by a desire to help people experience emotional growth with stronger forms of self-regulation. My goal is to help people establish the foundation(s) that will help them create and maintain greater coping skills. The strengthening of existing personal skills will help a person deal with the difficult events and stressors of their past more successfully. The creation of new skills is life-impacting. These new skills will help guide a person as he/she moves toward positive experiences while leaving the negative past behind.
I feel the relationship between a counselor and client is extremely important. My counseling style demonstrates compassion, affirmation, flexibility, and fairness. I personally feel that healing happens best within an environment of kindness, trust, and understanding. I have more than twenty years in the Education fields.
My work has consistently been with people with differing backgrounds, histories, and experiences. I have worked with people of different ethnicities, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, and mental health issues. I have worked with many individuals that have personally experienced or have been exposed to various forms of Trauma and Traumatic events.
Hello, my name is Jeremiah Henderson. I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in the state of Texas. I have experience working with depression, grief, anxiety, low self-esteem, low motivation, trauma, and anger. This experience deepened my understanding of social dynamics, (in)justice and human behavior, leading to dual bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Women’s Studies.
While pursuing my graduate degree, I worked at the National Domestic Violence Hotline, further honing my skills in crisis intervention and critical thinking/problem-solving . After earning a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin, I completed a post-graduate fellowship focused on psychiatric rehabilitation of veterans with severe mental illness.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, after recognizing the urgent need for increased access to mental health care I established my private practice, Therapy by Ivy, PLLC. ’ve felt called to become a therapist since I was nine years old, and that sense of purpose has stayed with me ever since. I began my career in a community mental health setting, where I worked closely with individuals experiencing severe mental illness and learned the importance of practical, real-life coping skills. That experience continues to shape my approach today—I focus on helping clients build insight, develop tools they can actually use, and feel more confident navigating their relationships and daily lives.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy slowing things down and staying grounded through gardening, crocheting, and camping. I’m also a big reader—especially when it comes to romance novels. Family is a central part of my life, and I value the many roles I hold as a wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother. Raising both boys and girls—including twins—has given me a wide range of life experiences that help me connect with clients from all kinds of backgrounds.

These experiences have shaped my understanding of how personal, relational, and cultural factors intersect in our emotional well-being.
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, seen, and heard. My goal is to help you find balance, process challenges, and empower you to persevere—even when life feels overwhelming. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to uncover your strengths and create meaningful change.
My approach is genuine, down-to-earth, and rooted in authenticity. I strive to create an environment where you feel encouraged to be your true self. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I hope that this personalized and honest connection keeps you engaged and motivated in your healing journey.
Whether you are seeking support for the first time or returning to therapy after a break, I’m here to provide thoughtful guidance and compassionate care. Together, we’ll build on what’s already within you—the resilience, wisdom, and hope—to create a more balanced and fulfilling life.

*Update 9/22/2026 Now accepting 2 new clients**I specialize in heavy life transitions or "tough times". Did you know your insurance will cover therapy sessions for life transitions or adjustments even if you don't have a textbook diagnosis of anxiety or depression? I bring 28 years of experience working in mental health, so you can feel confident you are in capable hands. I want to help you crawl out of the hole you've been in, whether you created it or someone/something else did. I made the switch to a virtual practice in 2015 and never looked back. Therapy should be accessible and affordable for all. Here's what my average client comes to me for...break ups, contemplating divorcing, post partum adjustment, grief due to a death of a loved one, trauma history, work burn-out, can't sleep, can't relax, can't stay organized, can't get along with their family, caregiver fatigue etc. And for clarity here's who I don't work with...anyone less than 18 years-old, couples (although I very occasionally invite a spouse/partner to a session to work on a specific issue) , untreated (as in meds) Bipolar disorder, or heavy drug or alcohol abuse. Thank you for checking out my page and I hope to see you soon! ( instagram is @cypresstxtherapist )

I approach clients with the an open mindset, looking to explore what the client needs and what they want for themselves. I always want my clients to know there is no judgement from me in their decisions, EVER. I view everyone's mistakes as us just being human and having a human experience. This practice of examining our human journey and what motivates us to do the things we do is extended to myself, my clients and my children/family. I often attempt to have the practice of asking myself "why did I do that? Did I do that because of this or because I was feeling blank?" I think it is important to help others get to the place where they ask themselves the same type of questions. We're all here just having human experiences!

Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 40 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and find a greater sense of balance and fulfillment. My career has taken me through many roles—serving on community mental health boards, directing psychiatric residential programs, and leading clinical teams—all with one goal: to support people in living fuller, healthier, and more connected lives.
Since stepping back from full-time leadership roles, I’ve shifted my focus to what I value most—working directly with clients through my online therapy practice. I specialize in supporting young and middle-aged adults, couples, and parents who are facing life transitions, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, addictive habits, or a sense of feeling stuck.
My approach combines the practical tools of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a deeper exploration of the emotional and mental blocks that may be holding you back. I believe healing and growth happen when we align mind, body, and spirit—restoring a sense of inner harmony that allows you to live with more clarity, purpose, and peace.
Therapy is a journey, and you don’t have to take it alone. If you’re ready to begin creating positive changes in your life, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Feel free to explore my website and see how we might work together.
Please note: Because of my role at the University of Houston (UH), university policy, as of Sept. 2025, prevents me from providing private counseling services to current UH students or UH alumni. This policy applies across all University of Houston campuses and programs.

As a social worker for twenty years, I have seen both the incredible hardships that people face as well as human resilience and adaptability. I became a therapist because I believe that healing happens best when we feel seen, heard, and accepted—just as we are. In therapy sessions, I use humor, warmth, and genuine respect to create a safe and supportive space for that purpose.
Hi, I'm Aaron. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working out of the state of Texas. I've been in the behavioral health field for over 13 years helping people of all ages overcome mental health struggles and substance use issues. I was called to this work because of my own struggles with depression and substance abuse; and, though I had to struggle in order to get where I am, I feel so grateful for my experiences. I have a passion for using mindfulness and compassion in my work and like to incorporate deep breathing and other body-based techniques whenever possible because, frankly, these are things that have worked well for me! I believe in the importance of helping you to understand the power of the mind-body connection in order to improve your relationship with yourself and the world around you. Life transitions are normal, but sometimes living life can become so overwhelming you need someone to talk to about it. My goal is to help you cope with these changes and to move forward.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in depression, quick to anger, or frustrated in your relationships — you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with feel like something just isn’t working, but they can’t quite explain why. Often, these struggles come from early experiences where emotions were ignored, dismissed, or too much for the adults around us to handle.
As children, we learn fast: if expressing emotions doesn’t feel safe or accepted, we push them down. Over time, that emotional disconnection can turn into anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, or anger that feels hard to control.
My work focuses on helping you understand where these patterns come from and how to shift them. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that feels heavy, anger that shows up too fast, or relationship challenges that keep repeating — we’ll work together to untangle the deeper story and build healthier ways of coping, connecting, and feeling.
This isn’t just about managing symptoms — it’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been shut down for too long.
I am a dedicated psychotherapist committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges, improve emotional well-being, and foster personal growth. With a client-centered approach, I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, trauma, or life transitions, I integrate evidence-based techniques tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights to create lasting change and live a more fulfilling life.
