My practice is located in Portland, Texas. Much of my work focuses on trauma. This ranges from car accidents, to childhood trauma, to abusive relationships, combat veterans and PTSD. I respect my client's opinions on their treatment and work closely with them in treatment planning. I love it when clients share resources with me that have helped them outside of sessions, whether that be podcasts, books, etc. I work to incorporate these things into treatment. I'm very skilled at meeting a client where he or she is at, and I have a talent for coaching clients through the difficult parts of treatment to continue making progress and not become "stuck."

Hi, I'm Attalie. Have you forgotten to take care of yourself? Do you often wonder what it would take to feel some sense of balance in your life again? Making adjustments to pivot to meet the expectations of those changes often leads to feelings of overwhelm, disappointment, frustrations and a sense of depletion with no time to care for self. My career has taken me through many roles—serving on community mental health boards, directing psychiatric residential programs, and leading clinical teams—all with one goal: to support people in living fuller, healthier, and more connected lives.

I believe healing and growth happen when we align mind, body, and spirit—restoring a sense of inner harmony that allows you to live with more clarity, purpose, and peace.

Treat others the way you want to be treated is the motto I live by. I want to be treated kindly, I want to be heard and I want to feel I matter. This is how I will treat you, without strings or hesitation.
I have a story just as you do. I have been lucky to choose a career that has enabled me to know when I need to talk to someone, enabled me to learn and use coping skills that work and has also enabled me to see the beauty through the broken pieces.
Growing up I was a nosey child, I always wanted to know the "why", I still do! This personality trait led me on a path where I have been able to meet people from all walks of life, people who seemingly burned every bridge walked over, people with no hope as well as people who just were going through a rough patch. All these individuals have helped me become the person and the therapist I am today.
I am truly excited to hear people’s story, restore faith and be the constant in people’s lives. Give me a chance to hear your story, you are not alone!
My work is directed by a desire to help people experience emotional growth with stronger forms of self-regulation. My goal is to help people establish the foundation(s) that will help them create and maintain greater coping skills. These new skills will help guide a person as he/she moves toward positive experiences while leaving the negative past behind.

Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Texas and Tennessee with 30 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be.
As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.
