New to Grow
Hello! I'm thrilled you're taking the brave step toward seeking support. My name is Brittany Gomola, and I bring a diverse and extensive range of experience to my counseling practice. I completed my clinical training in the New Jersey, gaining valuable experience in a variety of challenging and rewarding settings. My foundational clinical internships were completed at both a community mental health facility and a child and family center in inner-city Trenton, where I developed a deep understanding of complex family dynamics and community-based care. My commitment to helping individuals navigate life's challenges is broad. Since relocating to the Houston area, I have dedicated time to supporting clients through recovery as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) at a substance abuse recovery center. Furthermore, I currently serve as a Special Education Teacher and hold a specialization as a Clinical Autism Specialist. This dual role has equipped me with unique skills in behavioral support, individualized planning, and effective communication across various developmental needs. I believe in lifelong learning and continually enhancing my expertise to best serve my clients. I am currently deepening my professional focus by furthering my training in perinatal counseling. This specialization will allow me to offer sensitive and informed support to individuals and families navigating the emotional and psychological journey of pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Whether you are seeking support for substance use, family challenges, specialized care related to autism, or the unique struggles of the perinatal period, I am here to offer a collaborative, compassionate, and informed therapeutic space. I look forward to connecting with you.
In our first session, my focus is simply getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope will feel different moving forward. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to understand your background, strengths, and the patterns you’ve already noticed in yourself. You can expect a calm, supportive space where you don’t have to have everything figured out , just a willingness to show up and be honest. Together, we’ll outline your goals and begin shaping a plan that feels realistic, meaningful, and aligned with the changes you’re ready to make.
My greatest strengths come from the blend of my clinical training and my years of experience working directly with children, teens, and families in both therapeutic and educational settings. I’m skilled at quickly understanding patterns, identifying what’s getting in the way, and helping clients build practical tools they can use right away. My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in evidence‑based methods like CBT, solution‑focused strategies, and emotional‑regulation work. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I’m honest, structured, and able to make complex emotions feel easier to understand. I’m committed to helping people create real, lasting change, not just insight, but transformation they can feel in their daily lives.
I work best with clients who are focused, motivated, and choosing therapy because they’re truly ready for change. My ideal clients come in with a sense of purpose, whether that’s wanting healthier coping skills, clearer emotional insight, or a more grounded sense of self. I support children, teens, and women who are tired of feeling stuck and are ready to actively participate in their growth. In our work together, I offer structure, honesty, and practical tools that help clients understand their patterns and build new ones that actually support the life they want. I’m a good fit for people who appreciate a collaborative approach: someone who will listen deeply, challenge gently, and guide them toward meaningful, sustainable progress. If you’re ready to do the work and want a therapist who brings clarity, direction, and encouragement, I’m the right match for you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. I focus on teaching practical skills, identifying unhelpful patterns, and building healthier ways to cope and respond. My approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each client’s developmental needs.
