(she/her)
Hello! My name is Kelsie. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based out of Texas. I received my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology in 2015 and received my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2017. I've been working in the mental health field for 7 years and have been providing counseling for 4 years. I help my client's with everyday stress, anxiety, depression, career/school burn out, life changes/transitions, etc.
In our first session together, my main goal will be to make you feel comfortable and heard. We will introduce ourselves, discuss your goals for counseling. I will ask questions about your current mental health symptoms and your history with mental health. I will also ask about your family history with mental health along with other information about your history. Together we will come up with your treatment plan.
I believe my greatest strength as a provider is my empathy. l I understand how difficult deciding to start therapy is and how emotional it can be to discuss your life and mental health with someone new.
I primarily work with young adults in college and adults in their 30s and 40s. However, I also have experience counseling teens and adults between the ages of 18-64 years old.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice. With CBT clients learn to identify and label thoughts and emotions. Clients learn how to challenge negative and/or anxious thoughts. Clients learn skills and techniques they can use when they encounter stressors or triggers to help them be more in control of their mental health.
