As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, I built this practice with a clear intention: to create a space where you truly belong. I specialize in working with introverts, women, and people of color, who are navigating anxiety, self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and burnout. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University. I have worked in the mental health field for over 8 years. I have worked with individuals with a variety of mental health diagnoses. I feel that understanding ourselves and the root causes of our negative emotions is essential for personal growth. Once we make connections and learn triggers to our behaviors then we can implement strategies to help improve negative or maladaptive thought patterns. I am a therapist who will listen and reflect on your everyday struggles. I will ask questions to provoke thoughts and challenge negative thought patterns.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for ten years now. You will always know yourself better than I can or will.
From a philosophical and theoretical standpoint. I am overwhelming more of an attachment theorist, and have been known to use existentialism from time to time to help make sense of something. I guess the question that remains though is; can a butterfly flap it's wings in Brazil and cause a tornado in Kentucky, or are we all simply just products of our childhood and mirrors of our parents traumas?
The duality of life.
Attachment Theory vs. Chaos Theory. Both have value. I digress.
My goal is to provide a petridish in which you can explore your self. Safe. Contained. Yet completely in your control. The paradox being, you likely already have what you need. I'll sit with you while you find it. I can give you my clinical opinion, or diagnosis, and recommendations along the way as well if you'd like that. I can just sit and listen. I can play devils advocate. My job is to listen, empower, observe, and provide feedback when requested.
My journey began with a volunteer opportunity working with children in the care of the state, and expanded from there. Work experience ranges from acute inpatient care to my present career in outpatient care. Being a military veteran, my most recent career experience has been providing therapy to active duty, veterans and their families in a community setting. My dedication to this chosen field is driven by a deep desire to empower others, facilitate healing, and promote lasting positive change in the lives of those I've had the privilege of working with.

Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Hello, I’m Stacey Anne Charles-Polycarpe, a bilingual (English/Creole) Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and Texas. For over 9 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting adults, adolescents, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. I specialize in working with concerns such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, codependency, parenting, relationships, and trauma—and my goal is always to provide a safe, compassionate space where healing and growth can begin.
I received my license to practice marriage and family therapy in Texas in 1995. Over the years I've had the opportunity to work successfully with many different types of clients.
I am experienced with mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorder. Anxiety, and adjustment disorders are quite common. We are all products of our family and culture so these issues are discussed in individual and couples counseling sessions.
Because my specialty is marriage and family counseling, I sometimes work with couples or with several family members in the counseling session. If you are seeking marital therapy, then you are already aware of how complex it is to resolve problems to satisfy both of you. I want you to know that it is possible to unravel the issues and resolve them. All that is required is honesty – primarily with yourself – and a bit of work. We have seen many couples return to a peaceful and satisfying marriage.
My counseling style is relaxed, but very direct. I prefer for clients to come to counseling weary of how things are going and prepared to begin changing their life.
I practice solution-oriented and CBT counseling techniques which means that we work hard to ensure you come to as few sessions as possible. Many clients report 6 to 10 sessions are sufficient to provide mastery over the symptoms that brought them to therapy.
Integrity, honesty and decency are keys to success and it is my commitment to bring these characteristics to each session.
