Hi, I'm Arlicia Taylor, Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping clients navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where we explore your concerns, identify meaningful goals, and take practical steps toward lasting change. Using evidenced based interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and psycho-education modalities, I help clients build the skills needed to create healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a comfortable, supportive environment. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current concerns, identify your goals, and talk about what you hope to gain from the counseling process. I also want to learn about your strengths, support system, and any life experiences that may be influencing how you're feeling today. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful. Together, we'll begin creating a plan that feels realistic, personalized, and focused on helping you move toward the life you want. Therapy with me is not only about processing difficult experiences but it's also about taking meaningful action between sessions so that you can continue experiencing positive changes in your daily life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a warm, collaborative, and practical approach to therapy. I believe healing happens when clients feel safe enough to explore their thoughts and emotions while also feeling empowered to make meaningful changes. Rather than simply talking through challenges, I work alongside my clients to identify realistic goals, develop practical strategies, and build skills they can confidently use in everyday life. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and psychoeducation to help clients better understand themselves, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen healthy coping skills, and recognize their own resilience. I strive to create an encouraging, nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported, challenged, and empowered to make progress at a pace that feels both achievable and sustainable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support clients who are seeking to better understand themselves and take meaningful steps toward fulfillment and growth. Many of my clients seek therapy for anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, stress, or feelings of being overwhelmed. I also enjoy supporting girls and women through different stages of life, including adolescence, emerging adulthood, pregnancy, motherhood, perimenopause, and menopause. My ideal clients are open to a collaborative therapeutic relationship where we not only explore difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences but also identify practical strategies to improve daily functioning and overall well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps us understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and learn practical ways to replace unhelpful thoughts with healthier, more balanced ones.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Therapy focuses on where you want to go rather than only where you've been. While we'll take time to understand your concerns, we'll also identify your strengths, set realistic goals, and create practical steps toward meaningful change. I believe even small changes can build momentum and lead to lasting improvements in your daily life.

Psychoeducation

Sometimes understanding why you're experiencing certain thoughts, emotions, or behaviors can make them feel less overwhelming. Psychoeducation is simply learning about your mental health, relationships, stress responses, or life transitions in a way that's easy to understand. I'll provide information, tools, and strategies that empower you to better understand yourself and make informed decisions that support your overall well-being.
