Wondering if counseling really helps? Well, I’m here to tell you that counseling doesn’t have to be complicated. It is definitely beneficial and helpful. Counseling is about building a trusting relationship with your therapist. It’s knowing that you can talk to your therapist about anything that comes to mind. You don’t have to second-guess yourself, because counseling is all about you. It’s a place where you will be understood, where you’ll be listened to, and where you will be supported. Our ultimate goal is to increase your overall well-being. I do my best to provide my clients with a safe and comforting environment where they are free to express themselves. My clients are able to explore their thoughts, current situations, address stressors, life changes, relationship conflicts, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and a multitude of issues. We can work together to set boundaries, improve relationships, increase healthy coping skills, and help you live a more joyful life.

What if you could write the story of your life? The truth is, you can, you are in control of your destiny, you are writing the story of your life right now. The choices you make are directly related to the thoughts you have. That puts you in control, you have the ability to change the way you think, and when you change the way you think, you change your life.
The thoughts you are thinking right now are writing the story of your life. If you are not happy with the story, you can reprogram your thoughts to change the story and write it the way you want it to go. Together you and I can work to manage the challenges you are facing today.
Therapy may seem scary or even overwhelming, but with the right partner you really can change your life. Together we will explore how your thoughts and the dimensions of wellness are affecting your life and find a path to change the story of your life, to one of positive emotional and mental well-being.
Hello,
I was born and raised in Stockton, California. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and in 1997, after 25 yeas of service, I retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Marine Corps, I worked as a Farrier (Horseshoer), as well as a structural welder (Ironworker), as those were the most marketable skill that I had. I came to a point where old injuries came back to haunt me and I could no longer walk (several years later, thanks to a surgery through the VA, I can walk again; thankful for that).
At this point, I changed professions and out of a desire to work with veterans, I returned to school, accomplishing all that was necessary to become a licensed counselor. I spent another career working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically as a counselor in the Readjustment Counseling Service (Vet Center). I recently retired from the Vet Center and now I work part-time here with Grow Therapy.
As a retired Marine senior staff Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) and disabled combat veteran myself, the Vet Center was the perfect job. Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling to combat veterans and provide counseling to survivors of military sexual trauma (MST). Vet Centers also provide group counseling, bereavement counseling and couples counseling when this is determined to be of support to the veteran.
Readjustment counseling many times consists of treating/addressing symptoms related to post-traumatic stress (PTSD), I.e., anxiety, depression, exaggerated startle response, hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, etc. Many veterans go on to work as first responders and working with many first responders as well as medical personal, has provided me with a great deal of additional experience.

My method is eclectic of many different modes of counseling rather than one direct approach that works for everyone.

Hi, I’m Catherine Stewart, LCSW. I specialize in supporting adults navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and burnout. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, blending evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and trauma-informed care with mind-body practices to help clients feel grounded and empowered. I have 10+ years of experience working with children and adults providing individual and family counseling, including extensive experience providing trauma-informed care with immigrant families and youth involved with the foster care and juvenile justice systems. I will strive to instill hope by empowering clients to discover and build on their own strengths. I believe therapy can help individuals navigate through difficulties so it doesn't feel like we are doing it alone. Come with me to the journey of introspection and we will find healing in the end.
Hi there, I'm Parag.
You were not put here on this earth to suffer. You deserve to live your life with happiness and peace of mind. Mental illness and addiction can rob anyone of these precious gifts. When you turn to family and friends for support, often they don't know what to say or how to help. You can end up feeling very alone in the world.
No one wants to develop mental illness or addictions. You didn't do anything wrong. Feeling emotionally numb, mentally overwhelmed, or having thoughts like "I just don't want to be on this earth anymore" are not things that people willingly choose for themselves. They are illnesses. We often get sick through no fault of our own. Just like some people get diabetes or heart disease, some people get mental illness.
Working over five years in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, I have helped patients overcome symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, phobias, relationship problems, and self-esteem issues. My approach is to get to know you as a person and work on addressing what is really going on with your mind and your life right now.
I know getting therapy can be scary, but I will do everything I can to help you feel heard, understood, and genuinely cared for. Give yourself a chance to have peace of mind again.

For many years, I worked as a retail manager, where I gained valuable insight into human behavior, conflict resolution, and the importance of mentoring others through life's challenges. Those experiences taught me that every person has a unique story, and with the right support and perspective, they can discover the strength and wisdom they already possess. I approach each person with honesty, compassion, an open mind, and a willingness to think outside the box. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I believe in helping people uncover the answers that align with their own journey, empowering them to recognize their strengths and make meaningful connections that foster growth and healing. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate life's questions and challenges. Drawing from both my professional background and my own lived experiences, I strive to provide guidance, encouragement, and a safe space where you can gain clarity, build confidence, and move forward with purpose.

Hello and welcome. You have taken a big step towards helping yourself. I hope that I have the privilege of working with you.
My name is Yvette Ramirez, and I am a licensed professional counselor. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I continued my education at Capella University and graduated with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I started my counseling career working with clients I visited in their homes and helped them understand their diagnosis, teach them how to cope with their symptoms, and taught the importance of medication adherence. I was promoted to the Integrated Care department where I practiced solution-focused therapy with clients whose medical issues exasperated their mental health issues, or vice versa. I was trained and certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in the State of Texas and continue to utilize CBT in my practice today. I was promoted to a supervisory position for the Assertive Community Treatment Team and led a team of 13 case managers, nurses, and LCDCs, who worked with clients who were high utilizers of the local mental health hospitals and were in crisis often. I was the lead counselor for the team. and was trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy to assist our clients with the trauma they have endured and taught them to challenge the negative thoughts they had about themselves regarding the trauma. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprogramming to help those who have lived through a traumatic event that is causing distress in their lives, or clients who endure distress they find difficult to handle. I have worked with individuals, couples and families seeking counseling for over 10 years, both online and in person, and expanded my counseling career working with children, adolescents, and teenagers now for 8 years.
