LMFT, 12 years of experience
Hi, I’m Mali. I work with adult women who want to heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, or relationship challenges. If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I provide a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts and emotions, build coping skills, and create meaningful change. I also support clients experiencing suicidal thoughts. I hold two master’s degrees—one in Clinical Psychology from Iran and one in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston-Clear Lake—and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Texas. My approach is evidence-based and trauma-informed, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), DBT, and somatic strategies such as grounding and breathwork to help clients regulate emotions and process difficult experiences.
In our first session, we’ll get to know you and your life story. I’ll ask general questions first, then explore specific areas of concern. We’ll also discuss your therapy goals and what success looks like for you, so we can tailor our work together.
With 12+ years of experience and training in CPT, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care, I help clients process emotions, build coping skills, and feel genuinely understood. I am fluent in Farsi (Persian) as well.
Adult women ready to engage in therapy, open to exploring emotions, and committed to making meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that helps clients identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs related to their trauma. In practice, I guide clients through structured sessions that focus on recognizing stuck points, examining thought patterns, and developing healthier perspectives. By using cognitive restructuring techniques, I help clients reduce distress, improve emotional regulation, and regain a sense of control over their lives.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. In practice, I work with clients to recognize distortions in thinking, develop healthier coping strategies, and implement behavioral changes that improve emotional well-being. By using techniques such as cognitive restructuring, exposure therapy, and behavioral activation, I help clients build resilience and achieve their therapeutic goals.
Integrative treatment combines elements from a variety of therapeutic approaches to create a personalized plan that best meets the needs of each client. In practice, I draw from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness techniques, emotionally focused therapy, Gottman's method, attachment based theories, and person-centered approaches to address emotional and behavioral challenges. By tailoring interventions based on the client's unique experiences, I help them develop effective coping strategies, build resilience, and achieve lasting personal growth.
