I'm a licensed professional counselor in Texas. I would primarily with individual clients age 16 and above. I am a widow helping people who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. I also work with people experiencing domestic violence or with a history of domestic violence. If you have experienced trauma, recent or a long time ago, or if you are dealing with anxiety/depression, or difficult relationship with a partner, family, co-workers, friends, etc., we can work on this together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First session is about you letting me know whatever you need to say for our first sessions, and we'll set up some goals for our work together. I usually begin by asking you what made you decide to start therapy. We can focus narrowly or broadly, depending on what you want us to work on. It's your therapy. You get to decide. I act as a guide.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I use gentle humor to set my clients at ease. I may give information, but I won't expect you to go out and buy a book, or write in a journal, unless you decide you want to do those things. Your therapy is what you make it. I am accepting. My clients have said they are glad to be in a space in which they are not judged.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Grief can be such a lonely journey. People are ready to stop talking about it way before you are. You may have become isolated from people you used to enjoy being around. You may be working as hard as you can to avoid feeling. You may have insomnia, where you used to be able to sleep better because when you slow down, your brain goes into overdrive.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

PLEASE NOTE: My work is strictly limited to Individual clients age 16 and above. My Grow Therapy calendar is not syncing, so please contact me regarding appointment times. Thank you! Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is my go to. Helping you change your thoughts which can change your feelings is CBT in a nutshell. I also use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you recognize your traumas without having them relive them. I have IFS cards that I find are sometimes helpful to start talking about experiences that have brought you into therapy.
